Julia Stiles has opened up about feeling ‘slimy,’ while working on a film convicted rapist Harvey Weinstein was producing.

The actress, 43, said she felt extremely uncomfortable making a movie with the mogul when she was only 19-years-old.

In a conversation with Brett Goldstein on the Films to be Buried With podcast, Stiles was asked about the worst movie she’d ever seen.

She answered it was ‘one of my own movies, actually, that I think was executed very poorly.

‘It was a time when teen rom-coms were really popular, and the director [Kris Isacsson] wrote the script,’ she explained.

‘He was a first-time director and he was a very, very intelligent, capable guy. The script was very good,’ she said, adding, ‘and then Harvey Weinstein got his hands on it.’

Julia Stiles, 43, has opened up about a ‘slimy’ experience she had working for former Miramax founder Harvey Weinstein,72;  Pictured in New York City in February

The film was 2000’s Down To You, starring Stiles, Freddie Prinze Jr., Shawn Hatosy, Selma Blair and Henry Winkler.

It was during reshoots for some scenes that Stiles was told the then Miramax Films co-founder decided Stiles needed to use her dancing skills to add some spice to the storyline.

‘I’m told that [Harvey] decided that because of the success of Save the Last Dance and 10 Things I Hate About You, with me dancing on the pool table, that he needed to have me dance in the film,’ the Bourne Identity actress said.

‘It was just dumb. “Let’s get her on a pool table and have her [dance].” It wasn’t even imaginative,’ Stiles stated.

‘I felt so slimy doing it the whole time, she said.

‘I don’t know if it made it into the film but ot was annoying. Because I was like, “Well, this is so cheap, and it’s not adding to the story.”‘

Besides acting, Stiles has used her skills to write and direct her first feature length film.
