Julia Morris has touched on the breakdown of her marriage to British comedian Dan Thomas in very telling interview.
The pair split in 2021 after 16 years of marriage.
Speaking to The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Monday, I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! host hinted the couple’s split was acrimonious, but said she won’t go into detail about her divorce because she wants to protect the privacy of her ex and her two daughters.
‘Oh look there’s always more to the story [behind the split],’ she told hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson.
‘It’s not like people just go ”you know what guys, lets just break up”.
‘I don’t want to disrespect him [Dan] and his life and mostly I don’t want to disrespect my children by really opening up Pandora’s box.’
She then addressed what she meant by Pandora’s box – a term usually used to describe something that brings about ‘misfortune’.

‘[I’ve had ] 75 years in [show] business,’ she joked, adding: ‘And anyone you bag you get bagged by the universe somewhere else.’
Kyle then pressed Julia about the details behind the break-up.
‘I know you joke and carry on but I feel there’s bitterness there,’ the KIIS FM radio star said.
But Julia would not be drawn out and dismissed Kyle’s question.
‘It was three years ago,’ she said.
‘Quite fresh,’ Kyle responded, before Julia retorted: ‘No I don’t think it’s fresh at all.’
It comes after Julia shocked fans in May, 2022, after announcing her divorce.
She later confirmed the couple were heading towards a split for some time.
‘I’m famous for saying I feel like every year we’re going to break up. But it definitely gets to that same point, which is that we are just not necessarily growing in the same direction,’ Julia told The Australian Women’s Weekly in July 2023.

She explained how she began to see her husband as a ‘pest’ as their relationship became more fractured.
While Julia described her marriage breakdown as ‘super sad’, she was determined to set an example for their daughters Ruby, 17, and Sophie, 15, not to settle for an unhappy relationship.
‘I think that’s where patience starts to wear down to, “I’m not living like this. How is this an example for my girls that this is an okay life to lead? No thanks”,’ she said.
Elsewhere in the interview, Julia revealed how she’s learned to manage the household chores her husband previously took care of – including looking after her finances.
The TV star has also become more familiar with the internet.
‘Now I’ve got to download permission slips from school. And I’ve never worked in an office – I’ve taught myself all that stuff,’ she boasted.
Julia married British comedian Dan on New Year’s Eve in 2005.
