Met Gala fake images first caught the attention of fans in 2024 when AI-generated photos of A-listers like Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry 'arriving' for the event went viral.

Many of the bogus pictures featured the celebrities supposedly hitting the red carpet at the celebrated fashion event, dressed in highly 'creative' – but fake – outfits.
