JonasCon is happening at the American Dream mall in East Rutherford, New Jersey today.
The event is celebrating 20 years of the Jonas Brothers, who lit the Empire State Building as part of the weekend’s festivities.
The event was marketed as the ‘ultimate’ Jonas Brothers fan event with laser tag, a Jonas Brothers themed game room, Jonas trivia and the Shake by the Ocean milkshake bar.
‘Join the Jonas Brothers as they celebrate 20 years of music and memories at American Dream! Experience an unforgettable day of nostalgia, hits, and fan-favorite moments in an iconic setting, the website for JonasCon read.
Over on X (formerly Twitter) fans are sounding off about the insanely long lines, crowds and the VIP seating situation.
X user @mayadenisemu posted a video showing that the VIP ticket holders were seated on a upper mezzanine level, far from the action near the stage that GA ticket holders enjoyed.

‘@VIPNation the JonasCon Sky Stage vip tickets were a SCAM! How are people who did not pay for tickets getting a better view to the show than people who paid $200!!! Literally the worst VIP I’ve ever had @jonasbrothers,’ she wrote.
User @elysesosaa posted a video of someone in a tall giraffe costume handing out bananas. ‘What is Jonas Con,’ she wrote.
‘The line for JonasCon is insane,’ fan account Jonas on Tour tweeted along with video of the crowds.
‘JonasCon is nothing but waiting in lines,’ another tweeted.
Just three weeks ago, JonasCon was struggling to find sponsors for the event.
JonasCon is described as ‘a special one-day event’ to celebrate Kevin, Joe, and Nick’s 20th anniversary and will include live performances, DJ sets, Q&A panels, fan activations, pop-up surprises, as well as immersive experiences.
The event takes place on Sunday, March 23 from 11am until 11pm, but a source claimed earlier this month that it’s been ‘thrown together very quickly’ and is ‘turning into a mess.’
The fan videos posted on X certainly support the idea that the event is a ‘mess.’
Kevin, 36, Joe, 35, and Nick, 32, have allegedly only managed to lock in one sponsor – Fossil – for the day, and an insider reckons it’s because of the cost to sign on.
‘They thought they would easily get sponsors, but there’s been an underwhelming response from big brands,’ the source told The US Sun.

‘The minimum you can spend to be a sponsor for JonasCon is $100,000, and so far they only have one sponsor signed on.
‘I think Fossil spent a decent amount of money, but they spent a decent amount of money because Nick is already a brand ambassador,’ the insider continued.
‘They went on to reveal that the brothers and their team are ‘pretty much putting this whole event together themselves,’ but it’s turned into a ‘complete and chaotic mess.’
The official website for the band’s had very little details on what fans can expect and simply encouraged them to register in the weeks leading up to the event.
‘More info on the activities across the day will be announced across the next couple of weeks. Register to be the first to know,’ the website states in regards to the schedule.
It also informs fans that while entry is free, registration is essential – but also claims there will be ‘VIP options and additional paid ticketed activities.’
Fans have been sharing their disappointment over the lack of information on Reddit, and some admitted they have made the decision not to attend now.
‘Not surprised in the slightest that they haven’t made anymore announcements for JonasCon,’ one person wrote.

‘Not that it ultimately matters, because with other events coming up, logistics of getting there, and lack of information for the event, my sister and I decided we aren’t going, but I’m still keeping tabs on announcements just because I’m curious as to who/what will be there.
‘Also considering the event is about two and a half weeks away, you’d assume they would have announced SOMETHING. I would not be shocked if it wound up getting cancelled with their track record,’ they added.
Other fans quickly replied as one said: ‘I can’t believe that there has not been any announcements at all.’
Another person admitted: ‘I’m just relieved I didn’t spend any money cuz I knew this would happen.’
A third fan claimed: ‘As I’ve said before, Jonas marketing sucks and they need a better team.’
And a fourth commented: ‘Glad I wasn’t the only one wondering. I got the “You’re In” email a few weeks ago. I live in NJ so I haven’t had to make any travel plans. Honestly, for a free event, I’m still mad it’s a mess lol.’
And someone else predicted: ‘I think we’ll either get an announcement with more details this Friday, OR it gets (indefinitely) “postponed”.’
