John Bishop has divided fans after revealing he’s changing the time of his gig on Sunday because of the Euros 2024 final.
The comedian, 57, posted a hilarious video on Wednesday to make the decision, but left some annoyed as he announced the controversial schedule change.
John was due to put on a performance at The Civic Theatre in Wolverhampton at 8pm on Sunday, as part of his Back At It tour – the same time the highly-anticipated football match will kick off.
However, after the Three Lions vanquished the Netherlands in a breathtaking victory to reach the Euro 2024 final, the presenter decided to change the time of his show, at the moment the full-time whistle was blown.
Taking to Instagram after the match ended, John penned: ‘Regarding my show on Sunday evening #itscominghome,’ alongside a clip explaining his decision.

He told his 934,000 Instagram followers: ‘This is a message to all the people coming to Wolverhampton on Sunday.
‘I’m not doing the show at eight o’clock, the show’s going to get moved to the afternoon.
‘You’re all gonna get an email in the morning telling you the time. I know it won’t suit everybody so anyone who can’t make it, we’ll give you a refund.’
John confirmed: ‘But we’re definitely going to move the time to Sunday afternoon because there’s no chance I’m going to be doing it at eight o’clock, because I’m gonna be busy watching these boys.’
The video has already amassed more than 32,000 likes, with viewers taking to the comments to joke about the clip:
‘I wish I had a job where I could change the time I start, at the cost of disrupting a few thousand people, to watch a football match. Fair play.’;
‘People moaning, I actually think most would prefer it to be moved? And if it wasn’t, it would be half empty with people watching the match instead.’

The video has already amassed more than 32,000 likes, with viewers taking to the comments to joke about the clip – however some fans have been left unhappy with the change,
‘Love this. Second the full time whistle went’; ‘Legend. Watching Spain win, eh.’
‘He’s changing the time so his fans don’t have to choose which is more important for them to watch; John’s show or the final. He also knows he’ll have hundreds of no shows if his show continues at the original time.
‘Look, I love John Bishop but there’s absolutely NO way I’d miss the final on Sunday & I’m reckoning a lot of other people would feel the same.
‘Stop moaning and get your refund if it bothers you that much. It’s coming home people!!!!’
‘Absolute rescheduling masterclass.’
‘You did the right thing. Nobody wants to be watching you when England is in the final. Come on England!’
However, some fans have been left unhappy with the change, arguing:
‘Good windup, because you wouldn’t be so inconsiderate to move your show to watch a game of football and for all the people that’s planned to come and see you for months just to screw them over, come on JB.’
‘I always liked you. Especially your attempt at the Irish Famine as your chosen subject on celebrity mastermind. But now sadly the journey has ended.’
‘Because of a STUPID FOOTBALL GAME.’
‘You deserve empty seats for every show going forward. How unprofessional of you to do this. Shocking!!!!’

John recently took up the sport and opted to ditch the usual tour bus option and travel between his UK and Ireland shows in 2024 and 2025 on his BMW R 1300 GS TE.
He said: ‘I’ve always fancied the idea of a motorbike because I’ve always liked cycling.
‘I suppose I’ve got some awareness of being on the road on two wheels but the difference is now every time I look at somebody cycling they don’t look like they’re having as much fun as I am on a motorbike.’
