Jodie Turner-Smith has made rare comments about the daughter Juno, aged four, she shares with her ex, Joshua Jackson.

The actress revealed her child had a hilarious reaction to her role in the new Star Wars show The Acolyte.

The British actress, 37, got candid about watching the trailer for the spin-off series with Juno during her Good Morning America appearance on Monday.

The star admitted she was ‘so excited’ to view the clip, mentioning that the toddler ‘already loves movies’ and is particularly engrossed in another animated Star Wars show.

‘And so I put it on and I was with my daughter and I was so excited, like “Look, it’s mommy” and she was like, “Eek, scary!”‘ Jodie explained with a laugh.

She added, ‘I was like “sorry!”… ’cause there were so many lightsabers going off!’

Jodie humorously added that, ‘in her defense’, she had never been more excited to watch her own work than she was while viewing The Acolyte trailer.

‘I literally, when I saw the trailer for the first time, I jumped in the air,’ she continued. ‘I was like Zendaya at the end scene of Challengers. I was so excited. I’m just thrilled.’

Jodie plays Mother Aniseya, a leader of a coven of Force-using witches in the new series, which also stars Amandla Stenberg and Carrie-Ann Moss.

‘Mother Aniseya uses her power to protect, you know, she is protecting her community, her family and that’s her main thing, her objective,’ Jodie said on GMA.

‘I mean, she’s got some other things going on too, but, really, I think that the power she’s wielding is in order to protect her kind and their way of life.’

The interview comes after Joshua also made a rare comment about Juno, saying his daughter was one of the main reasons he decided to return to the big screen in almost 10 years in the upcoming Karate Kid movie.

The performer – who is currently dating Lupita Nyong’o – told ET last month: “Part of the reason I wanted to make the movie is that it would be the first thing in a very, very long time that I could potentially watch with my daughter.”

Jodie and Joshua split in October 2023 citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ after three years of marriage.

Their paths first crossed at Usher’s 40th birthday bash in 2018, and they celebrated the arrival of their daughter in April 2020.

Earlier this year in February, Turner-Smith broke her silence on the divorce during an interview with Sunday Times Style. ‘Sometimes things we really want to work just don’t end up working.’

‘And that’s OK. The most important thing is that you choose what’s healthiest for you and your family and definitely your children.’

‘There are so many different moments in our life where we look at ourselves and say, “Who am I and am I being true to that?”‘

The actress later told the outlet that, ‘The bravest thing in the world is to recognize when something’s not working and to make a move, and I always want to set that kind of example for my daughter.’

‘The big takeaway is that this is about just as much love and joy as it has always been. This is only about taking a step forward into a better life for everybody involved.’
