Jessie Buckley Joins Penelope Cruz for Playful London Photocall

put on a playful display as she attended the photocall for her new film The Bride! alongside her co-star in London on Wednesday.

The actress, 36, who is still fresh from her Leading Actress win for Hamnet, took a break from the award season circuit as she promoted her next film on March 6.

Jessie struck an animated pose for photographers and donned a black low cut top which she wore with a matching jacket.

The film star also wore a multi-coloured patterned skirt and pearl earrings as she posed on the rooftop of the Corinthia Hotel. 

Penelope opted for a sleek, long-sleeved black dress that featured a fringed detail along the hemline. 

The garment highlighted the star's incredible figure and she paired it with matching heels.

Also present at the photocall was The Bride! director Maggie Gyllenhaal who wore a black dress with sheer sleeves.

She was joined by her husband Peter Sarsgaard who sported a grey blazer with a red shirt and dark trousers. 

Christian Bale, who plays Frankenstein's monster in the film, sported a black hoodie with matching trousers and trainers.

The Bride! takes place in 1930s Chicago when Frankenstein's monster asks Dr. Euphronious to create a companion for him.

They give life to a murdered woman known as 'the Bride' which sparks romance and police interest. Peter portrays a character named Jake Wiles in the film. 

Jessie won the gong for Best Actress at the BAFTA awards on Sunday night for her role as Agnes in Hamnet.

Reflecting on her role, the Irish actress admitted it has made her 'braver in her life'.

Praising her director, she told W magazine: 'Chloé is such an artist in that she's looking for people's somatic responses to the material. She's always trying to distill it to the most primal vibration between us all.

'Where Agnes had to go, and how brave she was to sit in something that is unfathomable and let it rip through…I think it has made me braver in my life.'

On Sunday the star fought back tears as she dedicated her BAFTA win to her baby daughter whilst making history as the first Irish actress to receive the award.

As Jessie's voice became shaky with emotion, she said: 'I'd like to share this with my daughter who has been with me since she was six weeks old on the road with this.

'It's the best role of my life being your mom and I promise to continue to be disobedient so you can belong to a world where all your mad, complex wildness as a young woman.'

She concluded before the room erupted into applause: 'I am very grateful for this, thank you so much.'

Jessie welcomed her six-month old daughter with film producer husband Freddie Sorensen last year and has yet to reveal her name.

Jessie was nominated for the prestigious award alongside Renate Reinsve for Sentimental Value, Rose Byrne for If I Had Legs I'd Kick You, Kate Hudson for Song Sung Blue, Chase Infiniti for One Battle After Another and Emma Stone for Bugonia.
