Jennifer Lopez enjoys ‘date night’ with Office Romance costar Brett Goldstein… after he called her ‘sexy’

Jennifer Lopez was already spending a night on the town with her Office Romance costar Brett Goldstein.

On Sunday the 55-year-old actress and the 44-year-old actor/writer were seen together backstage with the cast of the Broadway play Oh, Mary!

Jennifer wore a cream-colored blazer with her highlighted hair partially up as she smiled for the camera next to Meryl Streep and Martin Short.

Brett wore dark colors as he was off to the side.

It is not known if it was a proper ‘date night’ out on the town or if they are just friends at the moment, but it looked like it was just the two of them at the show without pals or an entourage. 

Lopez and Goldstein are starting to film their new romantic comedy Office Romance this week in New Jersey years after he gushed about how sexy she was in the stripper film Hustlers.

Last week, DailyMail.com reported that Jennifer is excited to work with such a talented star as Brett. 

This comes after Jennifer’s ex-husband Ben Affleck was seen back in the arms of his other ex-wife Jennifer Garner.

Goldstein has already expressed he has a crush on the This Is Me… Now singer, even saying he ‘loves’ her. That is why he chose her to star in the film, he says.

Ticket To Paradise director Ol Parker is heading up the feature as Lopez has been named a producer.

‘After a very tough start to 2025, Jennifer can’t wait to start a new project and it certainly helps that she will be working with a very handsome and smart star like Brett,’ a source told DailyMail.com last week.

‘He is one hot ticket and a real class act with talent to back it up – he not only acts but he writes amazing scripts. He is like the younger, better, British version of Ben. She thinks he is very cute.’

‘It will be a reminder to Ben that she is still hot property in Hollywood and how can that not make her feel great?’ the source noted. ‘She is 55 and is still a box office dynamo. This will just be another reminder of that.’

It doesn’t hurt that Affleck was a Ted Lasso fan, either.

‘Ben knows who Brett is, he is plenty aware. Brett is younger and smarter than Ben. It will irk him for sure,’ the source said.

On Friday, Lopez shared on Instagram she was excited to start shooting the movie as she was doing a read through of the script. ‘This is gonna be a fun one ✨@Netflix Office Romance #NuyoricanProductions,’ she said in her caption on Instagram.

In the past Goldstein has admitted to having a crush on Bronx native Lopez. 

On an episode of his podcast, Films To Be Buried With, Goldstein referred to the 2019 film Hustlers, in which she played a stripper, as the ‘sexiest’ movie of the decade – before drooling over a scene of her cozying up to Constance Wu. 

‘It’s really good on every level,’ he gushed of the movie. 

‘F**king hell! 50! She’s 50! I love her!’

He also gave a shout-out to a scene which saw Lopez’s character cuddle with Wu in a fur coat.

‘There’s a scene on the roof, she’s sat in her big fur coat, and the girl, the new girl comes up and she’s shy, and Jennifer Lopez gives her a cuddle in a big fur coat, that puts between her legs, like cuddles her, and I thought, “I’d never wanted to be cuddled more.” Like that is one of the best cuddles,’ he proclaimed.

That same fan account also pulled up a screenshot of a video Goldstein once posted that featured Lopez.

Expressing his fondness for the star, he added a heart-eyes emoji to the post. 

‘Never forget that Brett Goldstein loves @JLo …Said she was his crush and now starring in a romcom together…,’ the account wrote in the tweet sharing his screenshot. ‘You go, manifesting king.’

On Reddit, a fan said of the casting: ‘Brett adores Jennifer Lopez so I’m happy he’s getting to act with his crush!’ 

Others on Twitter gushed over just how happy they were to see Goldstein work with his crush. 

‘The duo I was hoping to see working together!’ one account posted. ‘@brettgoldstein mentioned many times in his podcast how much he loves @JLo. And as a huge fan of both of them, I can’t wait to see them together!’ 

The casting comes during an interesting time in Lopez’s personal life – she is a single woman after divorcing Affleck. 

As for Goldstein, he dated comedian Beth Rylance in 2021, and in 2022 The Sun reported they had split.

Deadline reported last September that Lopez and Goldstein will star in the Netflix romantic comedy Office Romance.

Other cast and plot details are still under wraps, while a release date has yet to be announced.
