Jenna Dewan is mourning the loss of her dog Meeka at age 18.
The former World of Dance host – who is expecting her third child with fiancé Steve Kazee – shared a heartfelt and heartbreaking Instagram tribute to the pup she had since she was 25.
The Step Up star, 43, wrote: ‘Yesterday I had to say one of the hardest goodbyes as my first baby, Meeka, crossed over the rainbow bridge. I knew this day was coming and yet it still feels completely surreal to be writing this.
‘Meeka – you and I have had more eras than TS. 18 years (!) of going through literally everything with me by my side.. you showed me I could become a mother, and then was by my side as I became one for the first time with Evie. And you never even liked kids,’ she continued.
‘You have been with me to locations all around the world and also sat by my side during a global pandemic quarantine postpartum with Callum,’ Jenna – who is working through a legal battle with ex-husband Channing Tatum – added.

She went on writing that her longtime companion was the queen diva of her household who ruled over everyone.
‘I will never be able to express how much I will miss you. You were the biggest gift and I am grateful I can still feel you with me. Thank you for giving us the most peaceful crossing over we will never forget.
‘Somehow even in your last moments, you knew what I needed. I love you so much and even though my heart is broken to lose you in the physical, I know you will always be around and watching over all of us and especially ushering in this new soul,’ she concluded referring to the baby she is expecting very soon.
Her fans expressed their condolences in the comments section with Kazee adding a simple white heart emoji as his comment on the post.
The Rookie actress shared 10 photos from Meeka’s long and loved life.
In one photo, she snuggles the small white dog to her and captioned the snap: ‘Pregnant with Evie here,’ indicating the photo is 10 or 11 years old.
In another photo, she wrote: ‘@stevekazee thank you for being by our side during this and for loving Meeka so much, she’s so lucky to have had your love.’
The poignant tribute to her pet comes a day after she shared some snaps of herself in various bikinis while enjoying Memorial Day weekend, looking like she could deliver her baby any minute.

The pair went on to tie the knot in 2009 and welcomed Everly four years later, although they ultimately divorced in 2019.
Dewan ultimately moved on with Kazee, and they became engaged in February of 2020.
The happy couple went on to start a family of their own with Callum’s birth, which took place the following month.
The dancer revealed that she was pregnant with her third child on Instagram this past January.
