Jeffrey Wright has been added to the cast of the second season of the hit survival-drama series The Last Of Us, it was announced on Friday.
The 58-year-old performer will play Isaac, a militia leader who was involved in a prolonged battle with a resilient enemy faction.
The actor also portrayed the character in the 2020 video game The Last Of Us II, reported Variety.
Wright will star alongside series leads Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, who play Joel Miller and Ellie, respectively.
The cast of the program will also be rounded out by performers such as Rutina Wesley and Gabriel Luna.

The Last Of Us is based on the video game of the same name, which was originally released in 2013.
The show takes place in a post-apocalyptic United States and is centered on a smuggler escorting a teenager immune to a ravaging virus across the country.
The program was co-created by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, and the latter of the two helped develop the video game franchise.
The Last Of Us’ first season made its debut on HBO in January of last year and ran for a total of nine episodes.
The series received widespread critical acclaim, and it currently holds a rating of 96% on Rotten Tomatoes.
The cast and crew of the program were collectively nominated for five Primetime Emmy Awards, as well as several Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards, for their work on the project.
It was revealed that The Last Of Us had been renewed for a second season in January of last year.

Mazin spoke about the program’s upcoming second season during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter and stated that the new run of episodes would feature marked differences from The Last Of Us II.
‘It won’t be exactly like the game. It will be the show that Neil and I want to make,’ he said.
The producer added that the new run of episodes ‘will be different just as this season was different’ from the original game.
A premiere date for the second season of The Last Of Us has not been set.
