Nova 100’s Jase & Lauren have launched a Hide and Seek competition with a ‘life-changing’ $250,000 cash prize.
The breakfast radio giveaway, which bests rivals Kyle & Jackie O Show’s $200,000 Guess the Sound competition, involves listeners finding radio star Jase and Lauren somewhere in Melbourne.
Jason ‘Jase’ Hawkins and Lauren Phillips were pushed out of the ARN-owned KIIS FM network in November to make way for Kyle and Jackie’s Sydney breakfast show and have since moved to Nova.
But the rivals look to be going head-to-head with a huge giveaway for listeners.
In a statement released by Nova, Jase & Lauren’s Hide & Seek laid out it’s ‘simple’ rules: ‘The pair will be somewhere in their favourite city, waiting for a Melburnian to find them and knock on their door.’

‘We know Melbourne loves playing a game of Hide & Seek, and with the chance to take home a life changing amount of money, it’s set to be the biggest ever!’ host Lauren said.
‘The rules may be simple, but the amount of money up for grabs is huge! It’s the only way I could convince Lauren to be locked away with me indefinitely. I was just looking for a break from the kids,’ added Lauren’s co-host Jase.
It marks a huge leap in Nova’s typical giveaway stakes, with the station’s next biggest prize being $10,000 from their $10K In May contest.
Nova Network’s Group Programming Director, Brendan Taylor said this latest promotion was set to be huge.

‘Jase and Lauren have made an impressive impact on the Melbourne radio market since joining Nova 100 earlier this year. They started their year on the streets shaking hands with their loyal listeners, and now they’re asking their loyal listeners to come to them…if they can find them!’ he said.
It comes as Kyle Sandilands has issued a brutal response upon being asked if he felt bad about several of his competitor’s shows being axed to make way for his top-rating program.
The KIIS FM radio king’s top rating The Kyle and Jackie O Show recently premiered in Melbourne, which saw Jason ‘Jase’ Hawkins and Lauren Phillips’ breakfast show get shafted as a result.
An unapologetic Kyle, 52, recently said he felt indifferent to his competitors getting axed, as it ultimately came down to who was attracting the most listeners.
‘No, I don’t care. That’s why we went for Melbourne, we were like, “We’ve given this Jase and Lauren on KIIS FM a good run, it can’t get over fourth in the radio ratings, so we’ll take it”‘ he told news.com.au.

He added that The Kyle and Jackie O Show was moved to Melbourne because there was a ‘market in trouble’ and it was thought their program could help regain listeners.
However, Kyle’s co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, 49, took a different approach, adding while she didn’t like competitors getting axed it was unfortunately the reality of the business.
‘No one ever wants to move someone out of a job. I wouldn’t want that to happen to me. It’s a double edged sword, it really is,’ she said.
On April 29, Kyle and Jackie O took their breakfast radio to Melbourne in a huge multimillion dollar expansion deal.
