He took a moment to pose for selfies with waiting fans who greeted him alongside the black car that arrived to escort him to his hotel.
James had earlier posted to his Instagram to share his excitement at being back in Australia.
‘I’m here at Pacific Fair, the same shopping centre I did a meet and greet at all those years ago’ he wrote.
‘I’m so excited to be back with my brand new Basic Canvas palette’.
Things did not go as smoothly for James on his last visit to Australia in 2019 when he turned up 1.5 hours late for a meet-and-greet appearance amid a massive scandal breaking on YouTube.

The makeup artist took to YouTube with a tearful apology to fellow YouTube star Tati Westbrook on Saturday morning – the same time he was due to appear at Pacific Fair shopping centre at 10am.
James emotionally apologised to Tati and his followers in the eight-minute makeup-free video: ‘I owe everybody an explanation and I owe two people an apology.
‘I’m sorry for everything that is going on everything and I’ve put you through over the past three weeks.’
James is one of the most popular personalities on YouTube, who has previously collaborated with the likes of Iggy Azalea, Kylie Jenner and Katy Perry.
He was at that time in the country for his first Australian pop-up store on the Gold Coast, where he is selling items from his Sisters clothing range.
