Italian Influencer Damiano Alberti Dies at 23

Italian influencer Damiano Alberti has tragically passed away aged 23 just three years after revealing his cancer diagnosis.

The social media star's family took to his Instagram post to make the sad announcement. 

The statement - which was translated from Italian - read: 'Damiano is free from everything he has experienced.

'A part of us has flown away forever.'

Alberti was a lifestyle influencer and first revealed that he was diagnosed with a malignant tumor in his leg back in May 2023. 

At the time he had shared that he had a treatment plan and continued to be open about his diagnosis and treatment.

Then a year after his diagnosis, Alberti took to his YouTube to upload a video to reveal that he had cancer and detailed his chemotherapy treatments in a video titled '365 Days Later - The Story of My Illness.'

The star was very open about his cancer journey and often shared photos from the hospital. 

Just five months ago the influencer said he would be taking a break from creating content.

'Hi, unfortunately I find myself having to make this post because in the coming days I'll be hospitalized and therefore I won't be able to do live streams, something I've recently been doing with a lot of commitment and dedication,' he wrote via Instagram.

He continued, 'I'm making this post because I want to clarify that this break is forced for me and that I have all the desire in the world to keep making and creating content. In the coming days, videos will still be posted on my profiles, but since I'll be in the hospital, I won't be able to go live on Twitch. I can't wait to come back.'

Then there was a sad health update just days later.

'It's never easy to go through moments like this past week, and you never really get used to it. But this is also part of my life, and it has to be accepted,' he wrote via Instagram at the time.

'I left the hospital without being able to complain too much about the results, but now that's in the past! It's time to get back on track and always look ahead! THANK YOU for the support I've received during this period — now we start again.'
