Steph Claire Smith has lashed out over expectations that she should hurry up and give her young son a sibling.
The fitness influencer, who is now pregnant with her second child, tells this week’s issue of Stellar Magazine that she was focused on her business, KIC, a wellness app, for some time after welcoming her son Harvey, three.
‘I think it’s still that presumption that if you’re going to have one, then you’ve got to give him a sibling. That pressure is a lot to deal with’ the 30-year-old said.
‘I wasn’t in a position where I could – nor did I want to – just pop [babies] out and [fall pregnant] straightaway. I didn’t have that desire’ she continued.
‘It would have been really, really hard with what we were trying to do with the business.
‘[KIC] was my baby for such a long time that it does get priority sometimes over some personal desires.’

Steph said that she and her husband, Josh Miller, who she married in 2019, had a lot of difficult conversations on the ‘right time’ to try for a second child.
She also considered the feelings of her business partner, Laura Henshaw, who she co-hosts the KIC podcast with.
‘With the first pregnancy, I was a little naive as to how that might affect the business or even my relationship with my co-founder’ Steph explained. T
‘There were so many times that we didn’t have some of those important, honest conversations through that process.’
Steph is now expecting and posted to Instagram earlier this month to share the news.
Steph, who often features her three-year-old son Harvey in her social media posts, announced the news with a series of black and white photos.
The health and fitness influencer recently received backlash from her follows for taking her son Harvey to the gym.
Steph hit back at critics in early September when she came under fire for going to the gym with her toddler son Harvey.

She shared a video of herself at the gym with her son in tow, prompting mum-shaming trolls to criticise her for not going without Harvey another time.
One follower commented: ‘If it was your day with him, why did you need to go to the gym. Wouldn’t you want to do fun things with him?’
In a since-deleted TikTok post and Instagram reel, Steph clapped back at her critics, saying she didn’t ‘need someone else’s judgement’.
She fumed: ‘If it’s not how you parent, fine, but casting this kind of judgement publicly is just so unnecessary.’
This comment was on my latest reel, where I showed myself getting a gym workout in, and taking Harvey with me for the first time ever.’
Steph also insisted that making time to exercise is not a selfish act for a parent to do and suggested that taking a toddler to the gym was a way to instill a healthy lifestyle.

The 100hectare spread has been listed with a price guide of $8million-$8.8million.
The Soda Shades founder revealed to the Australian Financial Review on Sunday that the home had sentimental value since it was where he first met Steph.
The couple got engaged and later married in 2019 on the property. They also lived there for some time.
The land was purchased by Josh’s father Ken Miller twenty years ago.
The Melbourne-based businessman then splashed out thousands on developing the site into a lavish country getaway.
Called ‘Clarendon Eyre’, the secluded property is situated close to the banks of the majestic Murray River.
It features a 16ha golf course with Santa Ana fairways, sand bunkers and an ornamental lake.
The main homestead was built from two existing dwellings, which were shipped specially to the site to create one large home.
Josh recently ungraded the original plans to merge the two buildings, one a weatherboard home and the other the former Mornington Art Gallery.
Design features include a classic ‘Aussie verandah’, box windows and ornamental finishes.
The interior offers an ultra-modern look and features a built-in sound system, timber floors and porcelain benchtops.
There’s also a pool, spa, large entertainment deck, tennis court and home theatre.
