The Wiggles star John Pearce and his heavily pregnant wife Jessie Adamo were criticised recently when they shared the process of building their unborn child’s nursery.
Posting a video of the arduous task to Instagram, the ‘hot’ Purple Wiggle, 33, attempted a heartwarming nursery reveal after he broke a sweat organising and building furniture.
But as the stunning room was unveiled, some critics could only focus on one ‘terrifying’ detail—John and Jessie’s cat Bally was sleeping in their baby’s cot.
The video saw the Justice Crew member putting in a hard day’s work as he put together all the furniture for the nursery and organised the necessary items into their drawers.
At one point he stripped off his shirt to show off his very fit physique as he made a joke about the amount of cardboard he had to dispose of.
John captioned the video with: ‘Dear baby, while mum is building you, Daddy is building the nursery and disposing of all the cardboard.’

The footage ended with John and Jessie showing their long-haired cat Bally lying in the middle of the unborn baby’s bed as the children’s entertainer pet him.
One person began the barrage of unsolicited criticism with: ‘Hey John, please keep the cat out of the cot or where the newborn will lay as cat fur can cause allergies in babies.’
‘I hate to be that person but I have to say it. If your cat is comfortable in the crib before baby comes home don’t be surprised if they climb in there when baby transitions from bassinet. I’ve heard accidental smothering stories which is terrifying,’ another added.
A third said: ‘Cats love the smell of babies so just be careful. My mum found our cat with the baby inside the bassinet on her christening day—fortunately not on top of her!’
‘No one is hating when they tell you don’t encourage the cat to sit in cot cause the cat will think it’s OK and one time baby may be in there. U need to try to discourage Bally to stay out,’ one user commented.
Another one wrote: ‘Be careful of the cat. My Aunty found it sitting on my cousin’s face when she was a baby.’
Despite the numerous followers calling out the new parents-to-be, others rushed to their defence, slamming those who complained about the cat lying in the cot.
‘All the unsolicited parenting advice from all the experts,’ one person wrote, while another simple said: ‘Cute! Love seeing the cat in the bassinet.’

A third took a more direct approach, writing: ‘Omg can everyone stop about their cat.
‘You’re supposed to introduce cats to the new furniture before the baby arrives because then it’s not a whole new thing for them as they’ve already gotten used to it.
‘But also have some common sense they’re most likely going to re-wash the things the cat has been lying all over. Let people live their lives damn,’ they added.
John and Jessie, who tied the knot in 2019, announced they were expecting their first child back in June in a heartwarming Instagram post.
The announcement featured a touching video of the emotional moment they discovered Jessie was pregnant, and they confirmed they are set to have a baby boy.
‘It has been a long journey but our beautiful angel has finally been sent to us,’ they captioned the post.
‘We are so full of joy and can’t wait to meet you – baby Adamo Pearce due Dec 2024.’
They have since shared regular updates on their baby journey on social media, from the initial ultrasound, to a baby shower and a luxurious ‘babymoon’ in Fiji last month.
John and Jessie started dating in 2012, just two years after his dance-pop group Justice Crew shot to fame following their Australia’s Got Talent win.
They tied the knot in a private ceremony in October 2019, with their fifth anniversary together coming up at the end of this year.
The children’s entertainer then picked up his purple skivvy and joined The Wiggles in 2021.
