But the yoga guru, 42, insists their unlikely romance has stood the test of time because they embrace their differences and prioritize regular date nights amid the chaos of raising seven children.
‘Take a 27-year-old yoga instructor married to a rich and famous older man - it sounds ridiculous. It sounds like a bad SNL sketch,' Hilaria told the Daily Mail of her relationship with the Hollywood actor, 68.
‘It worked out luckily, but we poke fun at each other in our family all the time,’ she continued. ‘I think people expect that Alec wanted somebody he could boss around, and we’re on the same level together.’

The alum spoke to the Daily Mail at an event celebrating her Spotlight magazine cover at ’s One Art Space gallery, where she also opened up about how she and the 30 Rock star keep their marriage thriving despite their famously chaotic home life.
‘We take a lot of time for date nights,’ she explained. ‘We’ve been traveling a lot for work recently but we try to have a lot of date nights.’
And according to Hilaria, their evenings together are surprisingly low-key.

The couple tied the knot in June 2012 and went on to welcome seven children together (Pictured: Alec and Hilaria with two of their seven children)
‘That usually involves dinner. He loves a good dinner, we either go out or I cook and we usually end up chatting and catching each other up on our seven kids and our projects,’ she shared.

‘My wife’s success doesn’t surprise me, because she’s a very hard worker,’ he explained. ‘And this business is tough now, in terms of breaking in and staying there.’
Despite his decades-long career in Tinseltown, Alec admitted these days he would rather spend time at home with his family than chase more work projects.
‘For me, I don’t want to leave my home anymore. I want to stay home and do nothing and be with the kids,’ he confessed.
‘I love my kids, I love my family. I love to go to work. But I’m really happy when I’m at home with my family.’

Alec is also dad to Ireland, 30, whom he shares with ex-wife Kim Basinger. The pair were married from 1993 to 2002.

Elsewhere in the interview, Hilaria revealed that Alec - whom she wed in June 2012 - would happily welcome even more children into their already bustling household.
‘Alec would have more children,’ she laughed, before joking about their youngest daughter, Ilaria Catalina Irena Baldwin. ‘My youngest is so naughty - I named her after me and I’m getting all the karma that comes with it.’
And while the couple’s children have grown up in the spotlight, Hilaria said she would fully support them if they decided to follow their famous parents into showbusiness.
‘I would definitely support my kids to have a future in showbusiness,’ she said. ‘They don’t know anything different and they are curious about it.’
‘As long as they’re happy, I don’t care,' the doting mom added.
