Heidi Klum has revealed she received criticism for her relationship with her husband Tom Kaulitz because he is 16 years younger than her.
The supermodel, 51, told how she was forced to turn off her Instagram comments after being inundated with cruel messages about their age difference.
But the German beauty, who married Tokyo Hotel musician Tom, 35, in 2019, insisted she doesn’t let the comments get to her
She said: ‘I have a tough skin. I can cut out the noise when I go home, close the door and have a barbecue with the kids.’
Heidi also told how she dislikes the term ‘toy boy’, referring to the younger male partner of an older woman, because she doesn’t think their age difference matters.

In fact, the America’s Got Talent judge admitted she and Tom sometimes joke about their age difference.
She said: ‘He has to read the menu at dinner or I have to take a photo and zoom in if I forget my reading glasses, but we joke about it.’
The gap has benefited Heidi in other ways as she admitted the couple enjoy a great sex life.
Discussing her exercise regime, Heidi said: ‘I eat right, I never exercise too much or do heavy weights. People can push themselves too hard. I listen to my body. I have no back or knee pain and I have my husband.
‘[Sex is] very good. My husband is my match.’
Heidi hasn’t been shy about discussing the couple’s relationship and often shares loved-up snaps with Tom on her social media.
During the summer, the couple enjoyed a romantic trip to Sardinia.
Heidi’s adventures abroad might be thanks to Tom, who she credits for turning her into a party animal.

When Heidi first came to the United States from Germany at 21 to pursue modeling, she was focused on her career and not socialising.
‘In ’94, I moved to America, and I was really business-oriented,’ the Project Runway alum told Fox News in February. ‘I came from Germany and I landed in America and I wanted to succeed.’
‘Not necessarily that this would have been like a failure, let’s say, but for me, I really wanted to follow my dream and I wanted to become a model. So, I did not go out,’ Heidi explained. ‘I really wanted to have a career, so I worked on that.’
The former Victoria’s Secret Angel said that her 30s were about raising her four kids – Leni, Henry, Johan, and Lou.
‘Now they’re 19, 18, 17 and 14,’ Heidi stated. ‘I feel like the days of me going to bed at 9:30 are kind of over.’
‘When you have four kids, they keep you up day and night because trust me, with four, there’s always one – either [one] has a fever, the next one has a bad dream… there is always something going on,’ she continued. ‘
So I feel like with them all being older now, maybe it also has to do with my younger husband. I don’t know, but it’s just fun. It’s fun to go to a club. I enjoy music most of the time.’
Heidi shares Henry, Johan and Lou with her ex Seal while she had eldest daughter Leni with her ex Flavio Briatore.
