The boxer, 45, and the Waterloo Road star, 37, had a fractious relationship during their time together in the South African jungle, which was filmed in September last year.
David has since been accused of 'bullying' after a series of swipes towards Adam were aired, which, in one instance, saw him brand the actor 'useless' for excusing himself from a trial due to his health.
And in an appearance on the daytime show, David defended his comments to Adam as 'banter' and accused the star of trying to gain more sympathy by describing his ordeal as 'the worst time of his life.'
The sportsman insisted he and Adam had been on good terms after the show, and he'd spoken to him just a day before the interview.
David said: 'Some people had to the worst time of their life, Adam for instance, he said that was the worst of his life, I don't know how soft his life has been!

'I got on with everybody, even Adam. I've been chatting to him since, but this whole, the bullying thing, he fanned the flames, I think the angle is to play the victim card, even in the trials.'
Former Emmerdale actor Adam has autoimmune condition psoriatic arthritis and struggled with fatigue and dehydration in the jungle.
However, David claimed he 'played a sickness,' whenever a trial was due to take place, adding: 'It flares up in convenient times as well and that's what I'm saying.
'He's a super sweet guy, but I think he hams up, he's a professional victim.'
He added: 'I sat next to him on the plane for 10 hours and actually explained to him what banter is, when I was beating him. Even Harry, who has been around footballers his whole life, he gets banter.
'I think he's just too soft, he can give it but he can't take it plain and simple. if you watch it, and you see the context, if you see the whole time, we were all giving each other banter. It is a TV show, they edit it how they want to edit it to get the most engaging show.'
David then shared that in recent days he'd spoken to his co-stars Craig Charles and Harry Redknapp, who claimed they'd received backlash online.

This came after scenes aired on Tuesday which appred to show the duo impressed with the decision to allow Adam to return to the camp after he verbally clashed with Jimmy Bullard.
He said: 'I talked to him yesterday, I talked to everybody in there, but as a result of him being the victim, Craig and Harry are getting some online abuse from people, saying, ''why did he not stop the bullying?''
'So tomorrow at the live final, they'll be able to say their piece at the live final and say their piece what really happened. It was six months ago!
'To get £25,000 a day for being that, you're in the business that's good money for going on the show and doing a few trials and getting a bit of banter. He is not a victim.'

During the interview, David also defended his comments about his girlfriend Sian Osborne, after he was accused of being a misogynist for saying she had the personality of a 'proper ugly bird.'
He said: 'She thought it was funny, she thought it was hilarious. She's got the personality of an ugly bird, it was my way to complimenting my girlfriend. I could lie and say something that's politically correct and that sounds boring.'
'I'm so happy how it went, it was such a good show, everybody was lovely, even Adam, even thought he's b******g and whining, we've chatted, we're cool,
'If he thinks it was the worst time of his life, we've got a bunch of other campmates. He'll probably win, all the old biddies going ''poor Adam.'' Listen to what the other campmates say what really went on.'
On Thursday, Adam also shared that he was involved in a feud with another campmate, who he confronted after his time on the show came to an end.
Speaking on his At Home with the Thomas Bros podcast, Adam said: 'A campmate messaged me this morning, it was a lovely message… lovely guy.
'But there were moments in there where I was like, 'nah, I wouldn't do that to you, why are you doing that to me?'
'So I messaged him this morning, I needed to get it off my chest… There were a few things niggling me when I was there. It made me feel a little bit lonely.
'We were really good mates in the beginning and then, all of a sudden, he just didn't really talk to me anymore.
'It hurt my soul a bit because we were mates and then there were new campmates and you just f****d me off.'
Despite being asked by his brother Scott, Adam refused to name the celebrity he was referring to.
It comes after David took another swipe at Adam on social media on Tuesday night, after the actor revealed he is now receiving therapy following their jungle run-in.
The sportsman insisted he and Adam had been on good terms after the show, and he'd spoken to him just a day before the interview
Speaking to his brothers Scott and Ryan on their At Home With The Thomas Bros podcast, Adam emotionally said the row 'f***ed' with him.
Breaking down in tears, Adam said: 'It was like being back in school again and although it wasn't physical bullying or anything like that, and I'm not saying it's bullying, but he was just mind f***ing me.
'And I just never stuck up for myself whilst I was in there and I was like 's**t bro, I wish I stuck up for myself'. That was beating me up more than anything.'
Reflecting on David's swipes, Adam said: 'I just took it, and took it, and took it, until eventually it got to a point where I was like, 'I'm literally at breaking point here'.'
He added that David has since apologised to him as he told his brothers the boxer has 'a heart of gold' - however, David went on to swipe against Adam despite his apology.
The boxer claimed that his co-star was 'weak' in a new interview, doubling down on the bullying row and branding Adam a 'Chihuahua'.
He said: 'Adam's like a kind of chihuahua. I'm more of a doberman or a pit bull or something. He's the chihuahua. He doesn't need therapy. He needs to do some push-ups, he needs to get out there and get in amongst other males who are powerful.
'I don't think it's bullying. If a few comments breaks him, how soft is he? How weak, how brittle-spirited is he'.
Adam has autoimmune condition psoriatic arthritis, and has shared his struggles with the condition on social media.
But David insisted: 'I didn't know about it, but I couldn't care less. Everyone's got something. Adam was jumping around, dancing. I think whatever the trial was, he didn't like the sound of it, so he's lying in bed, so I gave him some s*** about that.'
The boxer went on to reveal that since leaving the jungle he has watched Adam and his two brothers Scott and Ryan's TikTok videos which he claimed are 'feminine'.
David sparked bullying complaints from viewers when Adam, who suffers from autoimmune condition psoriatic arthritis, told his campmates during last Friday's episode that he wasn't feeling well enough to participate in the Termite Terror trial.
The boxer took aim at him, and said: 'Who gives a s**t if he doesn't feel well. He's a grown-ass man. I don't like guys who are a bit useless.
'I hate them useless guys. He is useless.'
They clashed again when the camp was punished for Adam sneaking in chocolate for his campmates, with Adam suggesting that he wouldn't eat that night as a result.
However, David chimed in suggesting 'his portion should be a little bit smaller than everyone else's' as he hit back against the camp for supporting him.
Adam confronted David over his reaction to his dinner portion, calling him over and saying: 'Right, me and you outside now.'
Irritated David responded: 'We got a lot less than we would have had,' as the dessert was served up, to which Scarlett Moffatt ended the row, saying: 'Leave him alone.'
hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly said they were left 'uncomfortable' by the exchanges in rare comments on spin-off series Unpacked.
Ant said: 'It's not a nice watch. He just kind of picks and picks at them.
'Adam has had a bit of a tough time and he's not coping well. Clearly the banter has got too much. But David won't stop.'
Dec agreed: 'It's kind of crossed the line from banter. I don't find it comfortable to watch.'
After leaving camp, David told the hosts on his relationship with Adam: 'No bad blood from my side. Look, I've been immersed in tough boxing gyms since I was ten years old. Literally fighting daily, much bigger men than myself, pushing myself to the limits, physically and mentally. I won the world heavyweight championship against a seven-foot Russian giant.
'When a grown man tells me that a fun TV show - where we're being paid handsomely every single day - is the hardest thing he's ever been through, it's just not a frequency I recognise.
'I was actually on my best behaviour there, honestly.'
