Hayden Panettiere’s fans are concerned for her after she canceled her speaking engagements this week, in the wake of the one-year anniversary of her brother Jansen’s death.
The 34-year-old actress — who opened up about her sobriety and custody battle last month — took to Instagram to share an up-close selfie along with a message.
‘Hi, Everyone! Due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict I’m sadly having to postpone my upcoming speaking engagements this week,’ she began the statement to her 761,000 followers.
The note continued, ‘We will reschedule, so stay tuned for new dates. Anyone who has already purchased a ticket will be able to get a refund.’
She made no mention of the anniversary of her brother’s passing.

The Nashville star ended the caption, ‘I’m so sorry for the inconvenience, but I promise you it will be worth the wait… Much love, Hayden.’
Her supportive fans were understanding as they took to the comments to express concern.
One person wrote: ‘Unexpected things happen that’s part of life I’m just happy as a fan your doing great and I want you to be happy and healthy.’
Another sent well wishes, saying, ‘I hope you are doing well Hayden.’
And someone else shrugged off the cancelled appearances: ‘Don’t worry about it, Hayden. Hope you’re well.’
Last February Hayden’s family shared that her brother, who was also an actor, died ‘from an enlarged heart.’
Jansen was found dead at his apartment in Nyack, New York — near where he and Hayden grew up in Palisades — on February 19, by friends who were concerned when he missed a meeting.
He was discovered ‘sitting upright in a chair unresponsive’ and began performing CPR before his father Alan ‘Skip’ Panettiere arrived.

In a statement, the family said: ‘Jansen’s heart could be seen in his eyes, and his charm in his brilliant, engaging smile; his soul in his masterful and revealing paintings, and the joy of life in his dry wit.’
