While appearing confident, given his experience with children's birthday cakes, Hamish admitted that he was worried about the construction of chocolate sails.
'The sails have been demanded to be chocolate – edible sails with that famous skull print on it – that's alright, that's after midnight,' he said.
Hamish then shared a slew of photos and clips that documented his cake construction, and the Lego Masters star certainly didn't do things by halves.
Starting off with a schematic diagram, and with a glass of scotch in hand, Hamish set about cutting pieces of Styrofoam to form the shape of the boat, before an egg had even been cracked.
With the night rolling on, he finally got to work baking and began assembling the chocolate sponge around the boat base.
While he expressed concern about the integrity of his chocolate sails, Hamish pulled off the difficult element with aplomb.
It was certainly not a rushed job, with Hamish finally placing the sails on the cake at 6am on Saturday morning.

'She's heavy, she's a little wonky, but she's ours,' Hamish said as he held one of the sails aloft.

'Happy birthday Sonny boy,' he captioned the photo. 'I'd pull a hundred all-nighters for you, mate.'
