Singer Halsey gave a first look in character as Tabby Martin in Ti West’s upcoming slasher film, MaXXXine, which is the third installment in the X film series.

Less than one month before her movie hits theaters, the 29-year-old indie pop artist, who recently revealed she has been quietly battling lupus and a rare lymphoma disorder, shared an Instagram photo of herself in full costume, which included a red wig and matching lipstick.

In the image, she could be seen rocking a tiny black dress, stockings held up by garters and a glamorous white fur coat, which fell off her shoulders and showed off  the outline of the two roses tattooed on her right shoulder that she got as a teen.

‘Meet Tabby,’ she captioned the photo, in which she could be seen clutching her chest and looking frightened at something out of view.

In May, she was spotted filming a chilling scene for the movie at The Hollywood Forever Cemetery.

She appeared to playing either a zombie or a corpse as she sported fake gruesome lacerations, cuts, scrapes, and dark bruising across her face and body.

MaXXXine directly follows the 2022 film titled, X, where adult movie actors traveled to a farmhouse in rural Texas to film a movie, and soon fight for their lives against an elderly couple who live at the home.

The third film, which is also the final installment in the trilogy, follows Mia’s character, ‘who was the only survivor of the bloody incidents of X, as she continues her journey towards fame to be an actress in 1980s Los Angeles,’ according to an official IMDB synopsis.

X first premiered at the South by Southwest Festival in March 2022, and received critical acclaim as well as positive reviews. Later that same year, a prequel titled, Pearl, was released in September 2022.

The A24 project focused on the origin story of the titular character, Pearl, who was the elderly woman (also played by Mia) who resided at the rural Texas farmhouse in X. The movie received positive feedback from both audiences and critics.

Other stars that have been cast to join the third installment include Emily In Paris star Lily Collins, Kevin Bacon, Elizabeth Debicki, Mia Goth, Giancarlo Esposito, Moses Sumney, Bobby Cannavale and Michelle Monaghan.

While most plot and character details have remained under wraps, Elizabeth is set to play the character of a film director, with Kevin portraying a private investigator.

Monaghan, along with Cannavale, have been cast to play LAPD detectives.

Halsey’s post comes after telling her fans, last week, that she was ‘lucky to be alive’ amid her secret health battle.

In an Instagram video, the star said she felt ‘like an old lady’ and could be seen rubbing her legs as she seemingly suffered from pain.

The performer also revealed she was diagnosed with lupus SLE and a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder.

‘I told myself I’m giving myself two more years to be sick,’ she said. ‘At 30, I’m having a rebirth and I’m not gonna be sick and I’m gonna look super hot and have lots of energy and I’m just gonna get to re-do my 20s in my 30s.’

In a second clip, the star could be seen inside a hospital while hooked up to a machine.

While filming a quick selfie video, the music artist informed her fans and followers, ‘Today is day one of treatment.’ She panned the camera towards the machine and then back to herself while resting on a chair.

The star also included a short clip while inside a studio as she seemingly recorded her new single, The End. Throughout the duration of the snippet, she strummed notes on a guitar while singing some of the lyrics.

A short montage of her health battle was also candidly shared to her fans, including her breaking down in tears and receiving treatment.

Other moments included the songstress listening to music, her arm hooked up to an IV and the mother-of-one positively giving a thumbs up towards the camera.
