Halle Berry Shows Off Stunning $200K Engagement Ring

Berry was referencing comments she made earlier this week to The Cut, where she revealed her fiancé proposed last June. 

At the time, she admitted she hadn't immediately said yes, noting she would ultimately make an exception for 'health reasons' due to the legal access granted to spouses.

The couple was first set up during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in April 2020 by his brother, initially communicating only through texts and phone calls before finally meeting in person four months later.

After decades of intense scrutiny over her love life, Berry has been candid about how public narratives shaped her decision to protect her privacy.

'After my third divorce, people started to say, "What's wrong with her? She's crazy. She can't keep a man,"' she recalled. 'I pretty much stopped doing interviews for a decade because I got tired of the same old story.'

She added: 'It was always, "Poor Halle - unlucky in love again." And I would always argue, "Who says I want to keep a man if he's not the right man?" I'm in the best relationship I have ever had.'

The engagement will mark Berry's fourth walk down the aisle. 

She divorced her first husband, former MLB star David Justice, in 1997 after three years of marriage. 

Her second marriage to singer Eric Benét ended in 2005 after two years.

She later married actor Olivier Martinez, with whom she shares 12-year-old son Maceo. 

The pair divorced after two years, and Berry reportedly pays $8,000 per month in child support. 

She also shares daughter Nahla, nearly 18, with former partner Gabriel Aubry, following a prolonged custody battle.

Reflecting on her past relationships, Berry has said she came to realize she was attracting 'mirror images' of unresolved childhood trauma - something she confronted through deep emotional work.

'I realized I was just pulling in mirror images of myself - people who were broken, people with childhood wounds that weren't addressed,' she explained. 'I had to face the pain of what happened to me as a kid and release my secrets. I cried many a night.'

Berry is currently promoting her latest action thriller Crime 101, directed by Bart Layton, which hits U.S. theaters on February 13. 

The film also stars Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Barry Keoghan, Nick Nolte and Jennifer Jason Leigh.

Her upcoming slate also includes Apple TV+ political thriller The President Is Missing, Kay Cannon's action comedy Bad Cop, Bad Cop, Ellie Foumbi's drama Fleur and Joel Souza's African-set trafficking thriller Red Card.

Beyond Hollywood, the Lancôme ambassador has been campaigning for The Menopause Care Equity Act (AB 432) in California, which would mandate insurance coverage for menopause evaluation and treatment.
