Paltrow revealed her unexpected culinary tips and tricks on Wednesday's episode of The Today Show, where she bizarrely said she adds in arugula in place of milk.

And on Friday, she ribbed her grossed-out followers by doubling down with a short video posted to her Instagram Stories.

Without any context, the 53-year-old Oscar winner shared a video of a basket full of greens resting on her counter.

'Milked fresh from my garden,' she joked in overlaid text as the clip zoomed out to reveal her full bounty.

In addition to the arugula, Paltrow had what looked like dill, broccoli, stalks of celery and pea pods tucked away in her basket.

The defiant clip was a response to her eye-raising disclosure on the Today Show this week, when she revealed her leafy green go-to substitute for milk in recipes.

'If you want to avoid dairy, one trick that I do is I dice up arugula and I put it in,' the Goop founder said before making turkey meatballs during the cooking segment.

'It sounds weird, but it kind of adds, like, a nice texture to it,' she explained. 'And it's delicious.'

'I went into hardcore macrobiotic for a certain time, that was an interesting chapter where I got obsessed with eating very, very healthily,' she said on her Goop podcast in April 2025. 

'Lots of fish, vegetables, rice, no dairy, no sugar etc. I think that period of time I might have got a little didactical [sic] about it.'

Paltrow says that 'inflammation' was one of the reasons she and her husband, Brad Falchuk, 55, 'became Paleo a few years ago.'

'It sounds weird, but it kind of adds, like, a nice texture to it,' she explained of arugula. 'And it's delicious'

'It's takeout and pickup and delivery only,' she explained when asked if her brand was intended to be a restaurant. 

'And when I say engineered, like, we engineered the packaging for that and every time we tasted something, we put it in the back of a car for 45 minutes to make sure that it arrived still tasting great.' 

She continued: 'I always say that food is the quickest way to feel better and to look better. And of course, now every doctor in America will tell you that. 

'We developed this really, really delicious, very healthy suite of items that are gluten-free and peanut-free [and] allergen-free.

'You can make them vegan. You can make them dairy-free.' 

Paltrow later opened up about watching her two adult children 'go off to their next phase of life.'

Her eldest child, from Vanderbilt University.

When Today host Savannah Guthrie said arugula seemed 'weird' as a dairy substitute, Paltrow told her: 'It sounds weird, but it kind of adds, like, a nice texture to it, and it's delicious'

In addition to her daughter, Paltrow also shares son Moses Martin, 20, with her ex-husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.

Moses is currently a sophomore at Brown University, where he is said to be studying music.
