Gia Fleurs Friend Exposes Hens Night Drama

Married At First Sight bride Gia Fleur's best friend and man of honour Wil Thompson has broken his silence, lifting the lid on the explosive off-camera drama that rocked the hens night and ignited rumours of a bitter feud with fellow bride Bec Zacharia.

Speaking to Daily Mail, Will denied suggestions the confrontation was staged for television and claimed Gia was left in tears after allegedly being called a 'trashy s**t' following the tense event.

Will, who has known Gia for more than 12 years, said the pair share an intense, fiery friendship rooted in loyalty and brutal honesty.

'We fight, we yell, we swear and then two minutes later we're fine,' he said.

'That's a real friendship.'

He said he was blindsided when Gia announced she was joining Married At First Sight, recalling a bizarre Zoom call that ended with the realisation his best friend was about to marry a stranger on national television.

'I thought it was a business meeting,' Will laughed.

'She goes, "I'm getting married", and I'm like, "Who?" She says, "I don't know." And it clicked straight away.'

Will was later invited to be Gia's man of honour - a role he admitted came with heightened emotions, cameras and alcohol on the morning of the wedding.

'I was hyped. She was panicking,' he said.

'She was leaving her daughter, marrying a stranger and didn't have her phone. We were in completely different head spaces.'

He rejected claims their heated argument before the ceremony was fake or orchestrated.

'I'm not a paid actor. This wasn't planned,' he said.

'We're Maltese and Italian. We're feisty. There's a lot you didn't see.'

The allegation directly contradicts Bec's own account, with the Adelaide bride publicly denying she ever used the phrase and insisting it would have made it to air if she had.

Despite the clash, Will said tension between the two women was inevitable.

'Bec came in hard. There was a lot said at that hens party that wasn't shown,' he claimed.

'Gia was always going to clash with someone.'

He described Gia as outspoken rather than malicious.

'She calls out bullshit. That's who she is,' Will said. '

She's not trying to hurt anyone, but she's not going to sit quietly either.'

Will also addressed his own controversial on-screen moments, including grilling groom Scott at the wedding and asking whether he had children.

'I was three champagnes deep and grilling him like a job interview,' he admitted.

'That's the only bit they showed and I was mortified watching it back.'

Despite the chaos, Will said the wedding itself felt genuine, recalling emotional vows and instant chemistry between Gia and Scott that made guests forget they were on a television set.

'It felt real. We were sitting there thinking this is too good to be true,' he said.

He dismissed suggestions Gia is playing up a villain persona for the cameras, describing her edit as rage bait.

'I don't see her as a villain. She's just confident and people find that threatening,' he said.
