Married at First Sight bride Gia Fleur has hit back at claims she deliberately sabotaged Beck Zacharia and Danny Hewitt's relationship, insisting the drama that erupted at the dinner party has been blown 'way over the top'.
The controversy centred on a comment Danny allegedly made earlier in the experiment, when he told Gia, 35, that 'in the real world, you'd probably be more my type' than his wife, Beck.
The remark was brought up by fellow bride Brooke during the explosive dinner party, sparking tension between Beck and Danny and fuelling speculation that Gia had flirted with him or tried to come between the couple.
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia after the episode aired, Gia denied any wrongdoing and called the comment a 'drunk throwaway', insisting she never intended for it to be revealed.
'If I was trying to destroy her marriage, I would've told her,' she said.
She also firmly rejected rumours she was obsessed with Danny, saying: 'Yuck. Absolutely not. I only had eyes for Scott in the experiment.'

The bride also pushed back at claims she befriended Beck strategically.
'I became friends with her because Brooke encouraged it. I was actually trying to put things behind us,' Gia said.
While defending her intentions, Gia acknowledged her on-screen behaviour wasn't perfect, admitting: 'I've been a heightened version of myself - drinking too much, being a bully, not being very nice,' she admitted.
'I'm embarrassed by some of my behaviour and I do owe Alyssa and Stella apologies.'
