Georgia Harrison has credited Ed Balls MP for taking her from a ‘reality star to a campaigner.’
Speaking on Friday’s Good Morning Britain, the Love Islander, 28, praised the former labour politician, 56, turned TV presenter for helping her.
In a pre-recorded message played for Georgia, Ed told her: ‘It’s your determination, your passionate, your experience, your absolute mission to change things for other people that would make you a totally brilliant politician. You’ve got to do it.
‘I can tell you, there’d be so many who’d love to help you, from all sides of politics. You’ve just got to ask.’
Georgia then discussed her political career plans as she admitted: ‘I’m so so grateful to Ed it really was him who took me from a reality star to a campaigner.
‘Potentially I would like to work in politics. I think it would be good especially for someone my age to be pursuing that. From Love Island to parliament.’

Georgia was a victim of revenge porn in 2020 after her ex-boyfriend Stephen Bear uploaded CCTV footage of them having sex to an OnlyFans pan.
Bear is currently serving a 21-month prison sentence after being found guilty of voyeurism and two counts of disclosing private, sexual photos and films.
Georgia and Bear got to know each other through the reality television and influencer circuits, and then started a relationship.
But they broke up and hadn’t spoken for a year when she met up with him after an invite ‘for a cup of tea’ and it ended up with them having lunch and then having sex.
Three months later he posted footage of their intercourse on OnlyFans before it went viral on the internet.
Georgia later launched a campaign calling for tougher measures against those who share explicit content without consent.
Revenge porn was criminalised in 2015 but before June this year prosecutors had to prove an intent to cause humiliation or distress, but this clause has now been removed.

And now she wants to launch a career in politics after helping to change revenge porn laws.
Georgia told The Sun: ‘I had serious conversations with a couple of Labour MPs about if I could run for Essex, and they said it would be possible.
‘They told me to go away and think about it. They said if I was being serious about running for an MP it is something that they would support me with.
‘I think also for little girls growing up seeing someone like me running for an MP would be quite inspiring. We need more normal people going into politics.’
