‘The cast are like, when can I read it? We don’t want to really give it to anybody if we feel like we have to make a few trims and adjustments but I’m really excited to share it with people.’
Ruth recently told how she teases fans of Gavin and Stacey by telling them the final episode of the heartwarming sitcom will feature a shocking death.
Speaking on co-star Rob Brydon’s podcast the actress, 57, said how she is constantly badgered by fans following the announcement, desperate to know what happens in the finale.
Currently starring in West End musical Sister Act she said: ‘A couple of people at the stage door, say “What’s going to happen, is Smithy going to say yes?”.
At the climax of the last Christmas episode in 2019, Nessa (Ruth) got down on one knee to propose to Smithy (James), but viewers never got to hear his response.
Ruth went on to say despite telling fans that they may regret having the surprise spoiled, fans continue to beg.
She laughed: ‘So, I go (jokingly) “there’s going to be helicopter crash, most of the cast are going to get killed” and I just make stuff up!’

He said: ‘Gary did on an acoustic guitar sat in the corner of the church.
‘I’m always in awe of him and the way he can take a feeling and make it feel like, you thought something might have been particular to you and he says, “no no, I feel the same.” I think he’s brilliant.’
After Zoe played Snow Patrol’s new song The Beginning, James said he is considering including the track in the final.
He said: ‘It really did cross my mind when I listened to it. They’ve been a constant in our show. Series one we used their song You Could Be Happy. We wrote to them to ask for permission.
‘In series two we used Open Your Eyes. It would be nice to find a space but we don’t think about that until it’s all shot and done.’
James also opened up about his battles with stage fright in the past, telling how he went to see a specialist ahead of his second time hosting the Brit Awards in 2011
James also opened up about his battles with stage fright in the past, telling how he went to see a specialist ahead of his second time hosting the Brit Awards in 2011.
He recalled: ‘The second time I hosted the Brits was probably the time I had genuine stage fright. I went to see, I don’t know if was really a hypnotist but someone who really helps in that world of overcoming fear.
‘I went to see them the morning of the Brits. I couldn’t sleep, I felt like I was going to throw up, it was so daunting to me.
‘They said something to me which I’m going to hold on to, “You have to change your reaction to nerves and see them as a positive thing in your life. Nerves arise when something matters. When nerves arrive, you have to go, I’m doing something that matters to me, how great these things are here to give me the push I need.” ‘
