A host of fans and followers flooded social media as the pranks were shared, with disparaging comments defiantly insisting they were not convinced.
When GMB’s Charlotte Hawkins pretended to break a necklace of Marilyn Monroe’s, one Twitter user went as far as calling the joke ‘Lame and unfunny’.

Ant and Dec joined in the fun as they alleged they were taking a break from showbiz and TV – to spend more time in the kitchen.
In the hilarious announcement, they posed together in a black and white snap with tops adorned with the slogan ‘Taste Matters’, with the caption: ‘We’ve been stewing on this for a while but wanted you to hear it from us first’.
In quotes alongside, Ant said: ‘I believe that food has the power to bring people together and create cherished memories…
‘That’s how my family feel when I make them beans on toast. I am excited to embark on this culinary journey with my sous chef, Dec.’
Dec meanwhile wrote about his love of cheese and branded Ant ‘a brilliant pot washer’ – however they failed to trick any fans with the post.

Host Charlotte Hawkins was seen modelling a pearl necklace – purportedly once owned by Marilyn Monroe – however she was seen dropping the beads.
As the pearls shot across the studio, co-host Richard Madeley was seen musing over whether the scene was a prank or actually a gaffe.
Unimpressed viewers flooded Twitter, writing: ‘Saw it coming a mile off unfortunately gmb did it earlier this morning with Marilyn Monroe pearl necklace so….
