Frances Bean Cobain has so far remained silent on the new report, continuing to live a quiet life away from the spotlight despite her famous lineage - and her husband being the son of skateboarding legend Tony Hawk.

Since marrying in October 2023 and welcoming their first child, Ronin, in September 2024, the couple has mostly shared glimpses of their lives on social media.

Frances Bean Cobain has yet to comment on the report and continues to live largely out of the spotlight with her husband, the son of skateboarding legend Tony Hawk

Even as the family keeps a low profile, the new report questioning Cobain’s death has drawn Frances Bean back into public discussion.

The private team of forensic investigators suggested some evidence points to foul play rather than suicide.

Crime scene reconstruction expert Bryan Burnett noted inconsistencies in blood patterns, clothing, and injuries to Cobain’s mouth that, he said, didn’t align with a typical suicide scenario.

Investigators theorized that Cobain may have been confronted by one or more individuals, forced into a heroin overdose to incapacitate him, and then shot, with the scene staged and a suicide note forged.

Love, meanwhile, appears determined not to dwell on alternative theories.

‘She would love Kurt to be able to rest in peace, but it looks like that will never happen,’ a source told Daily Mail exclusively. ‘Courtney is going to choose to honor him instead of reliving that horrible moment in her life, and not give it any [extra] life it doesn't need.’

Over the years, Love has faced repeated accusations from fans claiming she played a role in Cobain’s death, including baseless theories that she hired a hitman to control his estate - all of which she has denied.

She is also the subject of the documentary Antiheroine, which chronicles her relationship with Cobain, battles with substance abuse, and decades of media scrutiny.

A private team of forensic investigators recently revisited the case, reviewing autopsy reports and crime scene details, reigniting debate over the circumstances of the rock star’s untimely death

Premiering at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival, the film sees Love reflect on falling for Cobain while Hole toured with Nirvana in 1991.

‘When you find somebody you really get along with and can be yourself with, it's easy,’ she said. ‘We knew we were in love, we knew we wanted to have a baby right away. The thing that got in the way was his need for total oblivion.'

Love also recounted the night Cobain died, while she was in rehab.

Cobain reportedly tried to reach her, but the late-night call wasn’t put through.

His body was discovered three days later in the greenhouse above the garage of his Seattle home.

Police reports revealed Cobain had injected a dose of heroin far exceeding what even a heavy user would typically consume, with toxicology showing other substances in his system, including morphine, codeine, and diazepam.

The King County Medical Examiner officially ruled the cause of death as a self-inflicted shotgun wound to the head.

‘Kurt Cobain died by suicide in 1994,’ a spokesperson for the Seattle Police Department told the Daily Mail. ‘This continues to be the position held by the Seattle Police Department.’
