 has opened up about the pressures of being a working mum while also carrying financial responsibility following her ex Jesse Woods' money woes. 

The broadcaster, 44, and the musician, 49, announced their separation in December 2024 after ten years of marriage.

The former couple share two children, son Rex, 12, and daughter Honey, nine.

Speaking on her Happy Place podcast on Monday with guest , Fearne discussed the financial pressure she faces, as well as the guilt of spending time away from her children.

She said: 'That's the thing I have to wrestle with… and I even made the decision last week where I said yes to something that I really want to do and also, you know, it's important that I'm financially on track, and I'm on my own, and, you know, doing it properly.

'But you know, my kids are actually at an age where I can talk to them, and I'm like, 'look, I'm going to take this job and I'm not going to be around quite as much in June and July,' and they were like, 'yeah, yeah, don't worry, we get it, it's all good,' and we had that conversation that took a bit of stress away.

'But even after this podcast, I've got three podcasts today, and I'm going to kill myself getting home as quickly as I can, to then race to my mate Ella's house, who picked up the kids for me, and give them dinner, to then come back and try and make up for me not being there - and we are all pushing ourselves.'

Reassuring Fearne, Ruth said: 'I'm sure if I sat down with your children right now and asked them, 'look, does it affect you badly that mum works? Do you worry? Do you think, where is she?' they would just say no.

'They'd be fine, because they know that you love them, they have a loving family. I actually think it's really good for your children to see you work.'

It comes after the full extent of Jesse's post-divorce money woes were revealed - with company accounts exposing the dire financial straits he has been left in following his split from .

The musician, who is the son of guitarist , gave a public glimpse of his struggles when he appeared in court in January on a speeding charge.

Jesse candidly revealed how he was living on barely £1,000 a month and struggling for work since the breakdown of his 10-year marriage to broadcaster Fearne two years ago.

He told magistrates after admitting speeding on the A4 in West : 'I was due to be employed in 2024 but it got delayed.

'At the moment I'm living off my savings and I am looking to get employment.'

In court, he disclosed that his most recent tax return showed a 'very low' annual income of around £14,000.

Jesse was handed a six-month driving ban and ordered to pay £255 in fines after his vehicle was clocked driving at 27mph in a 20mph zone.

Fearne announced her split with Jesse on December 16 2024, following 10 years of marriage.

A statement read: 'It is with a heavy heart that I let you all know that Jesse and I are ending our marriage.

'Our priority has been and always will be our children.'
