At the heart of the second series was couple Nick and Charlie who ended the debut season together after an ongoing will-they-won’t-they storyline.

The pair – played by Kit Connor and Joe Locke – still have challenges to face as a couple.

And fans cannot wait to see what twists and turns are in store for the pair and their supporting cast next, with one excitedly writing: ‘HEARTSTOPPER S3 HAS BEGUN FILMING NOBODY MOVE.’

Another added that they ‘can’t wait to watch’ with another exclaiming ‘WE ARE READY!’

The announcement was accompanied by an image of the series’ creator Alice Oseman with a clapperboard ordained by sketches of the show’s main duo.

It did, however, appear to reveal that the first episode filmed is being directed by Andy Newbery rather than regular Euros Lyn.

Newbery has previously worked on the BBC series Hidden and 2022’s The Light In The Hall, both Welsh dramas.
