Ella Eyre has claimed that a friend once asked her if she would pay for her breast augmentation after she hit the big time with her first record deal. 

The English singer, 31, who signed her first major record deal at the age of 16, rose to fame primarily as a featured vocalist on high-profile collaborations, most notably Rudimental's 2013 UK number-one single Waiting All Night. 

The track, which featured her vocals, became a massive hit and won the 2014 BRIT Award for British Single of the Year. 

Her debut solo EP, Deeper, was then released in late 2013, with her first solo single If I Go following in 2014. 

Now, over ten years on, Ella has revealed that when she received her first pay cheque from her first publishing deal, a friend of hers was so impressed that she asked the star to pay for her surgery. 

Speaking on the Spent podcast on Tuesday with host , Ella said: 'I'd gone into music just sort of following my dream, I didn't really have a backup plan.

'And when things actually started to go, Well, yeah, it blew my mind, to be honest. And I got, the thing that came to my mind first was my first publishing deal. 

'You know, it was just the advance. Was just money I'd never even known before. And I remember a friend at the time who I trusted. 

'She asked me to pay for her boob job because it was, like, so impressive that I told her.

She continued: 'And was like, "Wow, can you believe this?" Then she was like, "oh yeah. I was just wondering, like, you know". And I was just like, "okay, that's how I knew that I was doing. All right, yeah, that".'  

Matt jokingly replied: 'That came out of left field,' and Ella confirmed: 'I said no.'
