Eva Longoria seeks Victoria Beckhams support for charity

Eva Longoria has revealed she hopes her longtime pal  will support her non-profit organisation. 

The actress, 51, is an honorary member of the Global Gift Gala, an annual event that raises funds for the Global Gift Foundation, a philanthropic non-profit that works with children, women and families in need. 

And while attending the gala earlier this week, the Desperate Housewives star told the Mirror that she would love the 52-year-old to be an ambassador. 

She told the publication: 'I love Victoria, I would have loved for her to be here tonight in Cannes – but she always comes to our London gala, which always means the world to me. I would love for her to become an ambassador.' 

The actress, who is the godmother to Victoria's daughter Harper, 14, has been friends with the Spice Girl since the mid-2000s, when the Beckhams moved to LA. 

Eva has previously revealed that the pair have a strong friendship which involves sleepovers and flying across the globe for a chat. 

Victoria also helped Eva design her outfits when she married Jose Antonio Baston in 2016. 

Eva, who chairs the Global Gift Gala, added: 'It's a really fabulous party, this charity is my life's work, helping women and children all over the world. '

Eva was the belle of the ball at the Cannes Film Festival's annual Global Gift Gala on Wednesday night.

The Cannes regular wowed in another stunning look as she posed on the red carpet at La Mome Plage.

Wearing a black and white sequin dress, Eva showed off her curves in the halterneck gown.

She accessorised with glittering drop earrings and a matching necklace and bracelet and towering platform heels. 

 fled the 'dystopian' US two years ago and resides mostly in and , but she still makes trips back to the States when necessary.

She was born in  and spent most of her adult life in . She retains dual citizenship in the US and Spain.

She previously stated that she feels the American 'chapter in my life is done now,' and no longer wants to live in due to the 'changing' atmosphere.

Eva, who campaigned for to win the presidential , first revealed she was leaving the country of her birth because she feared would 'keep his promises,' making the US a 'scary place.'

'I get to escape and go somewhere,' she told Marie Claire magazine in late 2024.

'Most Americans aren't so lucky. They're going to be stuck in this dystopian country, and my anxiety and sadness is for them.'

Her departure came after Trump began to fill key posts in his second administration, many of which were criticised.

'The shocking part is not that he won,' Eva said after Trump scored a second term in 2024. 'It's that a convicted criminal who spews so much hate could hold the highest office [in the US].

'I would like to think our fight continues... If he keeps his promises, it's going to be a scary place,' she added.

Eva revealed that she and her family are content to split their time between Mexico and Spain.

The actress was given the honorary title of 'Dame' in Spain in 2022, due to her ancestral ties to the Spanish city of Oviedo.

Eva – who married Bastón in 2016 – purchased a six-bedroom, seven-bathroom villa in Marbella in early 2023, after a years-long search for the perfect home. 

The couple, who share seven-year-old son Santiago, soon began renovations, adding a home cinema, sauna and gym.
