A glamorous reality TV star turned landlord has been slammed over her teary video about how owning multiple properties is ‘unglamourous’.
Former Big Brother contestant Estelle Landy posted a clip to TikTok to tell her followers about the difficulties of being a landlord.
‘Here is the really unglamorous side to owning properties,’ Landy said in an emotional and foul-mouthed video which did not get the sympathy she expected.
‘I’ve seen so many f***ing people on here having a go because I own more than one property and (who say) I’m “entitled” and “read the room” and “Why do you Airbnb, you’re part of the problem”.
The nearly eight minute-rant led one commenter to accuse the 36-year-old of being ‘mummy and daddy’s little princess’.

Another wrote that ‘Landlord crying is the content I didn’t know I needed’, while a third said it was ‘The sweet sweet tears of a landlord.’
Through her tears, Landy said she rents out one of her properties on Airbnb because two of her other properties are in Gippsland, Victoria, which she notes is one of ‘the lowest socio-economical areas’.
‘I’ve been crying my f***ing eyes out all morning, because I have been pushing s*** uphill for two years, three since my mum died, with these properties,’ she said.
She then detailed what she called ‘the realities for those who are actually property investors and are lucky enough to own more than one property’, making air quotes when she said the words ‘property investors’.
The ex-reality star, who once boasted of being friends with Justin Bieber, said the two houses’ combined value is less than $500,000 and that one cost $200,000 when she bought it while the other, the public housing she grew up in, cost $20,000.
The more expensive house was also ex-housing commission and she said she bought it ‘to get my mum and I out of absolute ghetto poverty’.
Landy then detailed at great length the difficulties she’s had with both properties, especially since her mum died.
‘Tenant one in the $20K place hadn’t been paying my mum properly for about 10 years but she kept it from me. When she died, I took over that property,’ she said.
She also discovered that the tenant had not been paying for water in all that time and her mum had paid a large amount in advance for their water.
‘So that $3,000 credit my mum had in advance has now just been sucked up by this guy f***ing freeloading.’

Because the man is on a pension, she felt sorry for him and offered him a chance to catch up on the rent he owed.
‘Rent’s only $175 a week. He promised me … he was going to catch up, pay an extra $20 a fortnight. He gets $1,100 for his pension, not including rent assistance, which I sign the forms for … which was an extra $140 a fortnight.
‘I then didn’t see a cent. This tenant not only did not catch up on rent, they’ve not paid rent for two years,’ she said.
Landy said she can’t get him out because of difficulties and delays getting the case heard by the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
This meant for ‘two years this tenant has been able to pay absolutely zero rent, while I have water bill, rate bill, insurance … on this property (which) is literally falling apart’.
She then spoke about the other property she owns in Gippsland and claimed the tenant had ruined it.
‘My poor kind heart let the guy stay there, living with my mum because I felt he was a companion to my mum. I thought it’s better to have someone there in the place.’
She said he has been paying $200 a week rent, despite the market value being $350. ‘So yes, I’m an idiot for my soft heart.
‘But this guy also has a disability so I thought it’s better he just pays rent and when the time comes for me to sell, all good.
‘That was until I had the agent go round there the other day, because I don’t get to go there frequently. And the agent has told me the property is completely destroyed, that the value now to sell it as it is, is only $15,000 more than I paid for it 11 years ago.’
Landy said that all the mortgage interest she had paid over the years ‘has just been for nothing’.
‘And I’m in a situation now where I’ve been trying to sell both properties and get them listed for two years, and I haven’t been able to because of the tenant situation.’
She also said her mortgage rate has more than doubled in recent years from 2.99 per cent to 6.5 per cent. ‘All the stress and anxiety and f***ing grief has not been worth a f***ing cent.’
Landy also made an economic prediction that Australia is ‘headed for one of the biggest crashes ever in the next year’.
‘The price of living is out of control, and I can tell you that I would not be buying a house anytime soon where I have a mortgage on it.’
She advised people to ‘think twice before you become a property investor … it’s come back to bite me in the f***ing face, and today I’m sick of it.’
The reality star turned to a conspiracy theory to finish, saying people claim property is the most secure investment, but ‘That is until we have a global financial crisis that’s totally f***ing planned.’
Not everyone was against Landy, though, with several commenters backing her on her TikTok page.
‘If they could walk a day in your shoes Estelle,’ wrote one. ‘I hope this is resolved soon.’

‘I feel for you, stay strong, ignore the negativity,’ said another. But Landy didn’t ignore the negative comments, she fought back.
When one person wrote ‘all investments are risky, you have to be ready and willing to accept them going into it and set up the right insurances and support,’ Landy responded forcefully.
‘What part of my mum suddenly dying is part of the plan?’ she replied.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Landy for further comment.
