She enjoyed critical acclaim as well, receiving an nod for her portrayal of Hollywood legend Marilyn Monroe early in her career. 

Her days in front of the camera are long behind her now as she has since quit acting.

Hicks no longer acts, having left Hollywood to devote herself to her daughter. 

'I don't act anymore,' she told TMZ. 'I don't have the tears in me. They're gone.

'I'm being a homemaker when I wasn't because I was playing a homemaker. I wasn't there for my real daughter and now I'm home for my real daughter 'cause she never got me then when she was little.
