Natalie Cassidy was almost unrecognisable from her on-screen persona Sonia Fowler as she got glammed up for the TV Choice Awards on Monday night.

The EastEnders actress, 40, shared the stunning snap to her social media before heading to the awards ceremony in London with her co-stars.

Natalie, who was wearing a crisp white shirt with a metallic silver skirt, opted for a full face of make-up with a bouncy blown out hairstyle.

She first played the role of Sonia in the soap opera in December 1993, but Natalie’s off-screen look is world’s away from herย frumpy character.

The soap star joked that the transformation ‘took a few hours’ and shared her fears that her outfit would be creased by the time she arrived at the venue.

She wrote in the caption: ‘Ready for the TV choice awards. Only took a few hours. @sophevs_1991 to be fair we didnโ€™t stop talking and laughing.ย 

‘Thank you as always for my make-up and hair. Outfit with help from @beffyswardrobe. Although when I get out the cab and all my shirt isnโ€™t tucked and all creased the photos will look gorge.’

Once she arrived at the bash, Natalie posed up a storm for the cameras in her stylish look, which she had teamed with a pair of white heeled boots.ย 

The TV Choice Awards took place at The London Hilton on Park Lane.

The award ceremony was not broadcast live, but instead the winners were announced online by TV Choice.

Happy Valley and Netflix’s Heartstopper were the frontrunners at the awards, both receiving three nominations each.

Andย Happy Valley had a double win after its final series aired last year.

The showย was named the winner of the Best Drama Series gong after going up against Heartstopper on Netflix, Channel 5’s All Creatures Great and Small, and ITV1’s Vera.

Sarah Lancashire, 59, who playedย Catherine Cawood, won the Best Actress prize.ย

Around 7.5 million viewers watched the climax to the BBC One drama, which saw James Norton’s escaped convict Royce set himself ablaze in the kitchen of the embattled officer played by Sarah โ€“ making it one of the most-watched single shows of the year.

The TV Choice Awards 2024 celebrated another great year in TV and the glitzy ceremony saw some of Britainโ€™s biggest celebrity names scoop the coveted trophies, as voted for by the British viewing public.

Emmerdale was named Best Soap, having last won in 2022, while cast memberย Jeff Hordley, 53, who playsย Cain Dingle, scored his first TV Choice Awards as he triumphed in the Best Soap Actor category.

Dame Maureen Lipman, 77, who playsย Evelyn Plummer in Coronation Street, won the Best Soap Actress prize, whileย Martin Clunes, 62, won Best Actor for his part in Doc Martin.

Elsewhere,ย Beyond Paradise won in the Best New Drama category, whileย Call The Midwife won Best Family Drama andย Mrs Brownโ€™s Boys won Best Comedy Show.

Iโ€™m A Celebrityโ€ฆGet Me Out Of Here! andย Iโ€™m A Celeb South Africa win in theย Best Reality Show category, bothย Gogglebox and Celebrity Gogglebox won theย Best Entertainment Show prize.

The Martin Lewis Money Show Live which airs on ITV1 won theย Best Lifestyle Show prize, BBC One’sย Animal Park was named the winner of the Best Daytime Show gong,ย James Martinโ€™s Saturday Morning which is broadcast on ITV won in theย Best Food Show category, and Channel 5’sย Winter on the Farm and Springtime on the Farm won theย Best Factual Show award.

The Great British Bake Off, Bake Off The Professionals, Junior Bake Off and The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice won theย Best Talent Show award, while ITV1’sย The Chase won Best Game Show and Netflix was namedย Favourite Channel/Streaming Site.

While it didn’t win, The Traitors was nominated in the category of Best Reality Show alongside I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!, Queer Eye and At Home With The Furys.
