has opened up about his 'terrible' health battles, admitting he doesn't know if doctors will ever find a cure.

The veteran TV presenter, 66, saw his health dramatically decline when he dislocated his pelvis in 2021, sustaining three slipped discs.

This resulted in multiple spinal surgeries in 2021, 2022, and 2023.

As a result, Eamonn is largely immobile and relies on a wheelchair and a team of carers to help dress him.

Now, the host revealed how his loss of mobility and living with debilitating back pain have deeply affected his life.

He said: 'Well obviously I've been better. I've got this back and paralysis problem which has been with me now for three years.

'It's terrible to come to terms with. The thing is nobody seems to know what the problem is so I just stick with it and hopefully they'll find a cure one day.'

Asked if he experiences pain daily, Eamonn replied: 'Paralysis and mobility then pain. It's hard to get about.

'This has affected me in so many ways.'

Despite a raft of health woes, Eamonn put on a brave face this week as he arrived at The Hippodrome Casino for a Q&A with TV presenter Hayley Palmer for a special live Audience With event.

He walked himself to the stage using a stroller and said he was glad to have a presenting job at GB News and loves still working in television despite reports to the contrary.

He explained: 'The lovely thing and great thing about GB News is you can sit down and talk, talk to the audience which is great.

'But I'll not be running along to do the weather forecast or anything like that.

'I love work. it's not like a days work like my father works or my brothers - they work. My hands haven't done a days work in my life.

The broadcaster also revealed why he thinks American singer Mariah Carey is the biggest diva of them all and remains his most hated TV interview of all time

'You notice the difference when you're not doing it the way other people are doing it in real life.

'It's the most amazing thing. I'd say to any of you do something you love and you'll never work a day in your life and that's a lovely philosophy in life.'

Prior to joining GB News in 2022, the Irish presenter hosted the ITV morning show with ex wife Ruth Langsford from 2006 until 2021.

Cat Deeley, 49, and Ben Shephard, 51, were made the new regular presenters of This Morning following the exit of Holly Willoughby, 45, and Phillip Schofield, 63, in 2023.

Eamonn revealed his true thoughts on This Morning's new presenting team, and believes they're doing a good job as hosts:

He said: 'I don't see them doing anything wrong. I was out with Cat's husband the other day on St Patrick's Day.'

Eamonn also regaled tales from some of his most iconic interviews after more than 40 years working in TV, and revealed why he thinks American singer Mariah Carey is the biggest diva of them all and remains his most hated TV interview of all time.

He explained: 'She's always is a complete pain in the a**.

'I don't understand why people give them this superiority and presence and whatever.

'I've interviewed her a number of times and she's always difficult. I wouldn't care less if I never saw her again.'

Also during the Q&A, he revealed to fans that he stormed out of a chat with the singing superstar after she turned up four hours late and decided to take a nap instead of starting their chat.

Eamonn said he was told by Mariah's team that she was 'tired' as she'd woken up at 9am, leaving him unimpressed as he'd been awake five hours earlier.

In hilarious fashion, the GB News star said to the horror of Mariah's team, he decided to lie down on the sofa beside her, so they could complete the interview.

It was a move that sparked fury from Mariah's team, and in response Eamonn declared he was cancelling the interview and walked out.

He revealed: 'Bearing in mind I've been up from four o'clock that particular day so I'm going, 'what the hell's going on here,' so I said 'right if she's not here in the next 10 minutes I'm going'.'

'So she comes through the door, and she immediately lies down on the chaise-longue, and closes her eyes. And I said 'what the f**k is going on here?' They said 'Ms Carey is very tired, she's very tired, she's been up from nine o'clock this morning'.

'I said 'she's been up from f*****g nine o'clock I've been up from four!' and so I walked over and lay down beside her. I wouldn't do it now, because things have changed.'
