The 50-year-old actress will help bring forth a new iteration written by Pete Chiarelli, who wrote Crazy Rich Asians, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The franchise initially began as a 1976-1981 TV series, which starred Farrah Fawcett, Jaclyn Smith, and Kate Jackson. Cheryl Ladd, 74, joined Jackson, 77, and Smith, 80, in 1977 when she was cast in its second season to replace Fawcett.
Barrymore later appeared in the 2000 movie alongside Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu, and later reprised her role in 2003's Full Throttle.
A second TV series led by a new cast premiered 2011, but was cancelled following just four episodes.

The last time they were seen together was at the 1992 People's Choice Awards to honor producer Aaron Spelling.
Charlie's Angels was about three attractive private detectives who worked for a millionaire named Charlie and it debuted in 1976.
It became a cultural phenomenon for depicting women in power.

Smith, who played Kelly Garrett on Charlie's Angels, was the only actress to remain on the series for all five years until the show came to a close in 1981, appearing in all 110 episodes.
Should classic female-led franchises keep being rebooted or is it time for fresh stories?
