 has revealed for the first time that she suffers from borderline personality disorder (BPD).

In a candid post shared to on Friday, the Grammy-winner, 30, confessed that she has been 'struggling' with the diagnosis and has been in therapy for years.  

She made the mental health confession while defending fellow music star , who is diagnosed with bipolar II disorder, over a recent in Paris.

Doja expressed how much she admired Roan for upholding boundaries in 'uncomfortable' situations - something Doja said she herself has struggled with for much of her life.

'I've learned from a very young age to pretend that I like stuff, to pretend that I'm happy, to pretend that I don't like stuff that I do, to appear like everything is OK,' she said in her TikTok video.

'I'll get it done. And it caught up with me, and I think it always does for people. I'm now struggling with BPD.'

In a candid post shared to TikTok on Friday, the Grammy-winner, 30, confessed that she's been 'struggling' with the diagnosis and has been in therapy for years 

BPD is 'a mental health condition that affects the way people feel about themselves and others, making it hard to function in everyday life,' according to the Mayo Clinic

The mental health condition causes symptoms such as 'mood swings, anger and impulsiveness.'

Doja, whose real name is Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, said she has been 'struggling' with BPD for 'probably forever' and described it as an 'agonizing' experience. 

She made the mental health confession while defending fellow music star Chappell Roan's, who is diagnosed with bipolar II disorder, over the recent viral video of her angrily confronting paparazzi in Paris; Roan seen on March 8 

Doja, whose real name is Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, said she has been 'struggling' with BPD for 'probably forever' and described it as an 'agonizing' experience 

She continued: 'I love that she can do that without hurting people. She hasn't hurt one person by being herself, and that shows that I can do the same.' 

Doja said that she 'respects the hustle' of photographers and autograph resellers while also defending Roan and her position.

'I had to learn to be honest. I had to learn how to be honest with myself. I lied to myself for years, for most of my life, and to see her sit there, and I love it,' Doja told fans; seen in 2025 

She pointed her phone camera to a specific individual and added: 'This person, I've asked several times to go away, and they will not. 

'They're hiding their face because they're ashamed, because I've asked them.' 

She later added: 'All of you, I'm asking you kindly to please leave me alone and stop following me and harassing me.' 

She also turned down a fan's request for an autograph and later said to her own phone camera: 'This is what it's like, if you were wondering how it is.'
