Dax Shepard sent fans wild on Thursday as he secretly recorded two people trying to figure out who his wife Kristen Bell is and uploaded the entire thing to Instagram.
The ‘insanely funny’ experience occurred while Dax, 49, and Kristen, 44 — who currently stars in the Netflix hit comedy Nobody Wants This — were attending a recent theatre show.
Before the show started, Dax noticed that two women seated in front of them were trying to look up who Kristen was on their cellphone after they saw several ‘excited’ fans approaching her.
Without the ladies knowing, Dax caught the entirety of their search on camera as they desperately scoured the Netflix website for any sign of Kristen.
The Without A Paddle star claimed it took the women nearly 15 minutes to finally locate the Netflix listing for Nobody Wants This, which has a photo of Kristen and co-star Adam Brody posing nose-to-nose as the cover photo.
Once they figured it out, one of the women immediately sent a text to her group chat on iMessage informing them that Dax and Kristen were seated behind them.

Before the show started, Dax noticed that two women seated in front of the couple were trying to look up who Kristen was on their cellphone after they saw several ‘excited’ fans approaching her
However, the woman misspelled Dax’s name as ‘Zach Shepherd.’
Adding to the hilarity, one of the text recipients tried to correct the sender by confidently – and incorrectly – stating that Dax’s name is ‘Dak’ not ‘Zach.’
Meanwhile, another person in the group chat questioned if the sender was being ‘for real’ or pulling a joke.
‘This journey was insanely funny to witness,’ Dax began in his Instagram caption.
‘For the sake of time, this is heavily chopped down, but rest assured this exploration that started with a very general search ‘Romantic Movies’ took these sweet ladies a solid 13 minutes to refine.’
He praised the duo for their tenaciousness and he took the repeat misspelling of his name like a champ.
‘They were tenacious and stuck with it, and by God, they finally figure it out why the people behind us we’re excited Kristen was there.
‘Only to be topped by the greatest pay off of all time!!! Love, *Dak,’ the Employee Of The Month star concluded.

Dax shared a total of seven short clips with his 4million followers, including one of him imitating the ladies as they repeatedly turned around to get a good look at the couple while continuing their frantic internet search.
Another clip showed Kristen trying to contain her laughter as she witnessed the two women finally land on Nobody Wants This.
Fans of Dax and Kristen — who have been together for nearly 20 years — got a huge kick out of the ‘journey,’ with one person declaring it their ‘favourite thing ever.’
Another declared: ‘This is THE greatest saga known to human kind and I’ll hear nothing else’
Some jokingly suggested that Dax — who hosts the popular Armchair Expert podcast — refer to himself as ‘Dak’ going forward.
‘This is how you should introduce yourself on the podcast from now on,’ one fan wrote, following by a laughing-emoji.
Many enjoyed the ‘wild ride’ and wondered how the women never noticed they were being filmed.
‘I love that in never occurred to her they (sic) you *might* be able to see her phone. Brightness up to 11, 3 feet away,’ one person remarked.

The couple celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary just last month on October 17.
They first got together in 2007 — three years after meeting for the first time at a friend’s birthday dinner. Dax proposed to Kristen in 2010.
They tied the knot in 2013, with Kristen re-proposing to Dax that year before they exchanged vows at a Beverly Hills courthouse.
The beloved Hollywood couple are parents to two daughters: Lincoln, 11, and Delta, nine.
