Proud dad posed with his son Cruz's band as they paid tribute to his iconic United kit at their Manchester gig on Wednesday night - as estranged Brooklyn 'blasts his parents' performative birthday posts'.
David, 50, who played for the team for 12 years, was every inch the proud father as he watched his 21-year-old son and his band The Breakers perform on stage at The Deaf Institute alongside former player Nicky Butt.
It comes as Cruz's brother is said to have been 'disheartened' that his parents publicly wished him a happy birthday and broke their communication agreement.
The aspiring chef, who turned 27 on Wednesday, blasted the 'performative posts' which included loving messages, according to reports.
Meanwhile David was busy supporting Cruz's band at the gig and shared snaps with all the members who wore matching football shirts as he beamed at the front.
In another image with the band David penned: 'United out in force for the breakers' as Cruz's number on his shirt was seven - a nod to David's shirt number while on the team.

He then thanked Nicky, 51, - who spent the majority of his career with Manchester United - for showing his support at the gig.
For the gig, David cut a casual figure in a cream beanie as he joined Manchester United star Nicky and his best friend David Gardner.
Cruz's girlfriend Jackie Apostel, 30, who has been travelling around the UK with the band, was also seen at the show.
Jackie, who is a singer, cut a stylish figure in a furry brown jacket and denim jeans.

Meanwhile, Victoria and their son Romeo gave the show a miss as they are over in Paris for the city's Fashion Week.
Just hours earlier, David, Victoria, Cruz and Romeo offered a public olive branch to Brooklyn with Instagram posts to mark his 27th birthday - six weeks after he made his bombshell statement stating he had no wishes to reconcile with his family.
And on Thursday an insider told ET that Brooklyn wants to put an end to any attempt from his parents to contact him, including on social media, following their bitter falling out.
A source told the publication: 'Brooklyn and Nicola are disheartened they chose to make public Instagram posts for his birthday.
'These are the exact type of performative public actions that Brooklyn has been trying to put an end to, to no avail.
'Last summer they issued a legal letter to his parents requesting that any correspondence go through lawyers.'
