has been rapidly selling off a massive chunk of his property portfolio.

The Silverchair frontman has listed his Darlinghurst apartment, which he has owned for 16 years, with a price guide of 1.3 million.

The 47-year-old rocker bought the two-bedroom flat for $670,000 in 2010 in a joint purchase with his brother Heath.

Located on the top floor of an Art Deco block, it features sweeping city and harbour views.

Johns had previously rented out the home for $900 a week.

Real estate agent Jeremy Brink, of BresicWhitney, has said that the apartment holds the 'best position in the building'.

The vacant lot in Merewether, a prestige beach suburb 3km from the CBD of Newcastle, hit the market in May, with a $2.7 million–$3 million price guide.

Johns appeared to be preparing to build a new pad on the site after demolishing his old five-bedroom home in 2025, which he purchased in 2000 for $1.4 million.

After dividing the cleared property into two lots, the hitmaker offloaded one of the blocks for $3.2 million last August, after it was on the market for just 24 days, the Newcastle Herald reported at the time.

According to the publication, the four-bedroom home next door to Johns' block sold for an impressive $3.7 million in July 2025.

The remaining 968 square metre property sits on high ground in a secluded cul-de-sac and boasts stunning ocean views, including Merewether Beach.

Johns has not revealed the reasons behind the sale of his Merewether property on any of his social media.

He demolished his old home to 'unlock the site's full potential'.
