Dan Edgar Aids Chloe Lewis in Heartbreak Recovery

is helping to heal ' broken heart after the tragic death of her ex-boyfriend Jake Hall and the Lothario is ready to settle down, says a close friend. 

The couple have remained relatively tight-lipped over their romance, but were pictured together for the first time this week at the Tonic Terrace in the Hilton Bournemouth.

An insider close to the pair has spoken how Dan, 35, has been a pillar of support to Chloe, 36, who was heartbroken after the death of her ex-boyfriend .

Jake died in May aged 35 after sustaining fatal injuries from smashing his head through a glass door at a villa in Santa Margalida, Mallorca.

A friend of the couple told the Daily Mail: 'They've been friends for years and they've both been through something losing Jake. 

'They're similar ages and they are both at a point in their lives where they want to meet someone and settle down. They couldn't be more suited.'

Chloe, Dan and Jake all joined TOWIE together in series 14, where Chloe's turbulent romance with the model was documented. 

During Chloe's on-off relationship with Jake, sparks did fly with Dan. Chloe later admitted they had shared a kiss but it never materialised to anything more. 

But last June, Chloe and Dan found love at  and Tommy Mallett's second wedding in Mallorca, with insiders saying the Lothario is finally ready to settle down. 

When news of Jake's death emerged in May, Chloe was devastated. They had dated as teenagers before ending their relationship for good in 2016. 

She wrote in a heartfelt tribute: 'My first love, my childhood sweetheart. A love that taught me so much about life and myself, and even more so now your presence is no longer here. 

'A complete pain in the a**e most of the time, but always with the purest heart and the greatest soul. You touched so many lives and meant well in everything you did. 

'I knew who you were… and I know what you wanted from life… a happy home and a loving family. Being the best dad was the most important thing to you & we always use to speak about it. 

'You did that, Jake, with pride and made it look so easy and effortless. Like I knew you would.'

Chloe continued: 'We met at the age of 16, when you stalked me in a bar and ended up coming out with my sister and Danny for the night. You looked like you had stepped straight out of a Ralph Lauren catalogue in your shirt, sleeves rolled up, with a red sweatshirt tied over your shoulders like a little Spanish boy. 

'I remember thinking, How am I stuck with this guy for the night? But somehow, you danced with me all night and we belly-laughed until the early hours. You made me feel like I was the most wonderful person you had ever met. From that day on, we were inseparable, and you became my best friend.

'Navigating our young years and being thrown into a reality TV show, being in the public eye wasn’t really what we wanted, but it all just happened so quickly & it took over our relationship. It was a huge struggle for me & mentally hurt us both.

'We had our ups and downs, but we always knew how to come back to each other… until it was all too late. Life got in the way, and we separated after spending 10 years together. We didn’t love wrong, we just didn’t know how to hold on to it.

'The most talented and creative person I knew, from such a young age — starting Prevu in your mum and dad’s garage. Me and Mummy were always your No.1 fans. 

'You came up with the most gorgeous styles that were completely original, and I remember the day you made me the first womenswear piece and insisted on taking photos of me wearing it. It was unique, just like you.

'You loved music the way it should be loved, and the words to so many songs mean so much more now. I’ll never forget the moment you sang “Ordinary People” to me for the first time, and it will forever be our song. Sitting at your laptop, smiling at me while singing, “Girl, I’m in love with you…” with your cheeky smile and love in your eyes. The best kind of Jake.

'You were a pest and drove the people who cared about you crazy, but we loved you, and I wouldn’t have changed you for the world. The last few weeks have felt very surreal, and I still don’t really know how to process you being gone. I last saw you on February 14th when I told you to take care of yourself. But you never listened, did you? You always did it your way.

'You were such a massive and special part of my life, and I truly hoped that we would grow old, that I’d see you one day, happy and at peace with life. We’d smile at each other and be grateful that life had been good to us. But now I know that God had better plans for you.

'Heartache echoes through the world for you Jake. I’ve never seen so many people pour their love out for one person. I wish you could see it all — to realise just how deeply you were loved. I hope you can now, and that your mind is finally peaceful.

'You’ll be in my thoughts forever, and I’m sorry I couldn’t have saved you. The world feels quieter since you’ve been gone, Like somehow all the music is all wrong.

Dan, meanwhile, has had high-profile relationships on the show, starting with his own teenage sweetheart Kate Ferdinand - then Kate Wright. 

He went on to date Amber Turner, who cheated on her boyfriend Jamie Reed with Dan, before moving on with his last TOWIE love Ella Rae Wise. 

Since the end of his romance with Ella, he began dating Chloe, who is mother to six-year-old son Beau with ex Danny Flasher. 

On tackling filming with Ella in Vietnam, he said: 'The stuff with Ella is a lot more recent, so naturally, it's not ideal being away with your ex...

'It came to light that she was still quite upset about a lot of stuff. It's not nice, I don't like seeing anyone upset. It was a tough situation to be in...

'I'm with someone else now and to be out there and see someone else upset and still trying to manage a friendship. It was all new ground to try and navigate. It's obviously never easy, but we've been trying to manage it the best we can.'

While they remained tight-lipped about their union, while plugging TOWIE in April, he said: 'She's very understanding and very grown up as a person anyway. She's done the show before and she's understanding of how it all works... 

'I'm happy with how it is at the moment and it being separate. I'm in a good place with it all. Things are going well at the moment.' 

Before their romance was confirmed, sources said: 'Dan has always fancied Chloe, he thinks she's beautiful and is desperate to settle down. He'd told friends that he wanted the next girl he dates to be The One.' 

Speaking to show narrator Denise Van Outen on TOWIE podcast You Alright, Hun?, Ella said: 'I think it's really hard to be around your ex anyway. We all know that I don't have loads of friends on TOWIE don't we? So he's a bit of my familiarity.

'Sometimes we are just drawn to each other naturally. And it's not because we want to be disrespectful to the person that he's with or for people around us, it just happens.'
