Married At First Sight UK’s Shona and Brad have been axed following a series of ‘toxic’ rows over the past few episodes.
During Wednesday’s episode of the E4 show, the married couple were told by experts Paul C Brunson and Mel Schilling they were getting booted off the show due to the level of toxicity in their relationship.
But viewers were left rather confused when the pair vowed to ‘try and make things work’, even though they were told to leave the show for good.
Paul made the brutal telling that the pair were axed which didn’t go down well, with Shona and Brad insisting they really wanted to stay.
Shona said: I don’t want to go yet, guys. In the past I have ran, but I really want to stay.’

Baffled: But viewers were left rather confused when the pair vowed to ‘try and make things work’, even though they were told to leave the show for good
But Paul stressed that the ‘intensity’ of the relationship rows was too much of a strain on the marriage.
Despite Shona pleading for another chance to stay, Brad said: ‘Leaving is the best option for us to give us a chance. I feel caged, that’s why it has become toxic’.
As the group finally understood it could be the right thing to do, Shona said: He [Brad] has things he needs to work on, I need things I need to work on. I believe it is the right decision to go.
‘This is what we have to do and it’s a sign of growth. We are willing to give it a shot. Yes we have had toxic moments but the whole thing hasn’t been like that.’
Fans on X, formerly known as Twitter, wrote: ‘I didn’t realise they were leaving the process with the intention of carrying on with their relationship.’
‘Yes they need to go. It’s emotionally abusive, toxic and unhealthy.’
‘Wait hold on this is the first time the experts have told a couple to leave. Brad & Shona must be even more toxic that we ain’t seeing’.
Since quitting the E4 show, Brad has accused TV producers of turning him into a villain as he reveals: ‘I was deeply unhappy filming the show.’

The model was slammed on his time in the series after displaying ‘controlling’ and ‘coercive’ behaviour towards Shona.
However, Brad believes viewers saw unfairly edited scenes featuring the couple as footage of them ‘laughing’ and ‘joking’ failed to make the cut, and he feels producers wanted to portray a negative narrative.
And he also admits watching the series has been ‘difficult’ given he was in a dark place while filming but has no issue with his former wife who he describes as ‘a great girl.’
Brad said: ‘All they’ve shown is me and Shona all over each other physically or arguing, what an anti-climax that is but it’s also great TV.’
‘That aside, we had some great laughs, we had some great conversations, we were really connecting. There was a lot more depth there.
‘But the narrative they wanted to play was if you jump too quickly into something this is how hard it crashes and you’ve got the experts there who give their guidance, that’s all part of that narrative.’
He added: ‘I’ve been portrayed as an absolute villain.’
Grimsby-born Brad’s marriage appeared to be one of the strongest on the show, but fellow newlyweds didn’t believe their relationship was genuine, which upset wife Shona.

He claims his sudden exit from the show was down to concerns over his mental health rather than the alleged behaviour he demonstrated towards Shona
In one of the series’ infamous dinner parties, Brad angrily reacted to Shona’s frustration regarding others doubting their credentials, telling her to ‘shut up.’
And during the next episode’s commitment ceremony, he was slammed by the show’s experts for saying he ‘allowed’ Shona to feel desired emotions, leading some viewers to label him a ‘bully’, ‘narcissistic’ and ‘controlling.’
He said: ‘If you knew me personally, you would know I’d never ever do that. I would never control anybody. What would I get from it?’

He said: ‘The person I was matched with she’s a great girl, I haven’t got a bad word to say about her, she’s such a warming light soul.
‘We’d led different walks of life, I’d gone through different life challenges and then maybe she had, and I had a different perspective of the world that she had, we had clashes of heads at some points
‘Bear in mind there’s hours and hours of filming and they only showing snippets, some real short snippets
‘Frustrations are really amplified in there, everything projected from me is trying to help, I would always help and guide, and that can come across as patronising and controlling to some people.
‘It’s like I’ve experienced more, so I can give you this wisdom but that’s never how it’s intended to come across.’
