Colleen Ballinger Admits Disappointment in Her Ukulele Apology Song on YouTube Following Grooming Allegations

Colleen Ballinger, otherwise known as her comedic alter ego Miranda Sings, returned to YouTube on Saturday – five months after her cringe-worthy ukulele Toxic Gossip Train song ‘apologizing’ for grooming allegations.

The canceled comedian – turning 37 this Tuesday – only devoted the first four minutes of her 13-minute ‘fall vlog’ to show contrition over her troubling past interactions with young fans.

‘The last video that I posted is really embarrassing to say the least. I was being accused of some pretty awful things and was mad,’ Colleen said.

‘I should’ve handled the situation with maturity and empathy, but instead I just let my ego take over and I’m really disappointed in myself.’

And while Ballinger expressed regret over her most-watched (16.4M views) video posted back on June 28, she clearly has no intention of taking it down.

‘There were times when I did not put enough thought into some of my fan interactions, and because of that behavior people got hurt. I am so sorry,’ the disgraced YouTuber explained.

‘I never wanted to hurt anybody, but it’s clear that I did, and I feel like there’s probably people who are disappointed or feel abandoned by me because of my silence over the last few months.’

Colleen said she spent the last few months in therapy and focusing on raising her three small children – son Flynn, 4; and twins Wesley + Maisy, 2 – from her five-year marriage to Good Trouble actor Erik Stocklin.

‘I am not a perfect person, and there are plenty of things in my past that I wish I could go back and redo and fix and change,’ Ballinger said without giving examples.

‘I’m going to do everything that I can to make sure that I create a positive, kind, inclusive, safe space online with my content. If you want to be a part of my journey online, I would love to have you. And if not, I completely understand. I do not expect anyone to welcome me back with open arms. “I don’t expect to change anyone’s mind with this video.

‘I just wanted to come on here and say that I’m sorry, and I wanted to try and show people that it’s possible for someone to grow and learn and be better after making mistakes many, many years ago.’

The allegations against the Cali native actually began in 2020 when Adam McIntyre claimed she sent him her bra and panties and asked him if he was a virgin and what his ‘fav [sex] position’ in a group chat when he was only 13.

On Sunday, the Irish 21-year-old called Colleen’s fall vlog ‘a slap in the face’ and said she only posted it so she could continue earning money from YouTube ads as the platform demonetizes accounts inactive for six months.
