Chris Fusco Faces Backlash for Fiancée Dumping

Love is Blind recently launched its 10th season, and viewers have already found their new villain.

Military veteran Chris Fusco, 33, and physician Jessica Barrett, 39, started off the season as one of the strongest couples, but things took a turn when they left the pods for the real world and Fusco realized that he wasn't attracted to the brunette doctor.

In a brutal scene from the series that has now gone viral, Fusco explains to Barrett that their physical chemistry is off because he's used to dating women who take go to the gym every day.

'For me, to be totally honest, and without sounding like a f***ing d**khead. I don't know how to say it,' he said awkwardly.

'Like, in the normal world, I date people who do CrossFit and s**t, so I'm trying to, like, I don't know,' he continued.

'Somebody who works out all the time and, like, has a different type of... I don't know,' he said, trailing off.

Barrett responded, 'A different type of, like, body?'

Avoiding her direct question, Fusco said, 'It's just, like, somebody who does f**king Pilates every day or someone who's working out every day.'

He then admitted that it was 'hard' for him to be 'physically into it' when they're together.

'I just don't know if it's there for me,' he added.

After the pair split, Fusco wasted no time sliding into the DMs of fellow cast member Bri McNees, despite the fact that Bri was already engaged to Connor Spies, who Fusco had become friends with on the show.

'He messaged me on Instagram, and this man was in the pods telling me he doesn't even have an Instagram,' McNees told E!.

'He goes on to say some things... They were slightly inappropriate in some ways, and it was just a whole whirlwind. I'm like, "What's happening?"'

Viewers were outraged by Fusco's behaviour towards Barrett, with many branding him one of the worst villains in the history of the popular dating series.

'Why would you go on Love is Blind if looks are so important to you?' asked one.

'Bro really said the quiet part out loud. Jessica’s a whole doctor and still not "athletic enough" for him? This man’s priorities are wild,' wrote another.

A third wrote, 'If you aren’t attracted to someone that’s fine but he over explained which then became kind of rude and disrespectful. She’s gorgeous and the right guy out there will love her for her.'

Other fans pointed out that Fusco is on the shorter side and earns less money than Barrett, and is therefore in no position to judge her appearance.

'She’s out of his league. Made me so mad when he was saying these things. Little man syndrome or something,' commented one viewer.

'He’s not attracted to her and he should have said less words. It’s okay, I don’t think he is attractive. People have different preferences,' a second said.

In an interview with Netflix's Tudum, Fusco admitted that he felt a lack of 'sexual chemistry' with Barrett.

'We had this crazy emotional connection, and it’s like, I don’t know how to get past this problem,' he said.

Despite the lack of a physical spark, McNees stressed that he did find Barrett attractive when they first met.

'She’s a beautiful person. I think she’s attractive. When I first saw her, I was like, "Wow". But there’s just so many things involved with sexual chemistry, like the way someone touches you or how they smell and their pheromones,' he explained.

Reflecting on the incident, Barrett told Netflix, 'Years ago, I wouldn’t have handled it as well'.

She added, 'Of course, what he said hurt my feelings, but I know he’s wrong. I know who I am, and I know where my worth lies.'
