She penned in her lengthy post: 'I didn't know whether to share this with the world or not, as he's my baby & as a parent you're always protective over your child. I'm sharing to help others and raise awareness.
'After receiving the dreaded phone call NYE 2pm that no parent ever wants to receive, I was told Beau had been in a terrible accident. He fell over ice skating & someone ran over his finger with their bladed skates, which took his finger off.
'I'm not even sure how I got into the car and drove the 45 minutes to him, if I'm honest - it was all a complete blur.

'When I arrived, he was wrapped up in a silver medical blanket. His little face melted my heart, and I did my best to hold back the tears so I didn't upset him. He kept telling me, 'It's fine mum, you don't need to cry, I'm OK. My finger's going to be OK.'

'We were blue-lighted to The Royal London, where they checked him over and did X-rays. He finally went down for surgery at around 8pm. Watching your child be put to sleep is probably the worst thing I've ever experienced - it's incredibly distressing, and I honestly wouldn't wish it on anyone.
'After 3.5 hours in surgery, I was called down so I could be there when he woke up. The plastic surgeon told me everything went well. We then went back up to the ward, where I watched him sleep. This video was taken from the window on New Year's Eve. It's made me reflect on how precious life is, and how everything can change in a matter of seconds.
'It's now been 8 weeks since it happened. The part of the finger they reattached sadly didn't take… which means if it didn't fall away naturally then he'll have to have another small operation to remove it. It's completely broke me & still to this day I can't believe it's happened.
'As I'll never be able to bring his finger back, I'd love all your support in helping me change the Law to stop this happening to other children. I've started a Petition with the government 'to make it compulsory for children to wear protective gloves while ice skating.'
