Charli XCX has revealed she's 'definitely come close' to suffering the same 'breakdown' as her on-screen alter-ego in her new movie The Moment.
The Brat hitmaker is best known for her brazen behaviour, and she's taken this to new heights by playing an exaggerated version of herself in the mockumentary.
Speaking following the film's premiere at the Film Festival, Charli admitted that she's been 'method since the day she was born,' and so can draw many comparisons between herself and the version that appears in the film.
The film stars the singer as an alternate-reality version of herself grappling with whether to stay true to her art or cross over to the commercial dark side.
When a sinister director, played by Alexander Skarsgard, is hired to make a concert film about her upcoming Brat tour, she faces the ultimate test.
'I've been training to play this role my entire life in ways, very Method from the day I was born I guess,' Charli said.

Speaking at a press conference to promote the film, she added: 'And I've definitely reacted in ways like how I react in the film.
'Have I had a breakdown in the back of a Viano while smoking a million cigarettes? Yes. So I definitely had a lot to draw on.'
The Moment premiered at Sundance Film Festival last month before being released in the US. It's set to open in Europe next month following its unveiling in Berlin.
Charli praised the festival for 'not shying away from political films, from films that have a real social angle, films by directors who really are visionary and have something to say.'

She added: ''Those are the kinds of films that we love and want to champion ourselves. I'm only just starting out in this industry, but I feel passionate about working within those spaces.'
The star also confessed that the film's release marks the end of the Brat era in her career, which began with the release of the album of the same name in 2024.
She said: 'For me, it's over. And you can't dread the end when it's over.'
'In the film, Charli decides to free herself of Brat and kill Brat. And I think we were aware that this film was probably the full stop at the end of an album campaign.'
