The writer of Channel 4’s Big Boys has teased there might be a role for Diane from The Traitors as an exam invigilator if the sitcom is green-lit for a third season.
Comedian Jack Rooke shared that he had spoken with Diane’s family and suggested he was waiting to hear if she would accept his ‘offer’.
It is not the first time Jack has shown his love for The Traitors, as series one star Maddy Smedley nabbed a small role as a university fresher in the newly-released second series of Big Boys.
Meanwhile, fans of The Traitors have been eagerly awaiting Wednesday’s return of the show to find out if retired school teacher Diane, 63, was murdered after drinking the poisoned chalice.
In response to a fan stressing about the fate of Diane on X, formerly Twitter, on Tuesday, Jack said: ‘Di must be protected at all costs & there’s a part in big boys as an exam invigilator if she ever wants it.’
The writer of Channel 4 ‘s Big Boys teased on Wednesday that there might be a role for Diane from The Traitors as an exam invigilator if the sitcom is green-lit for a third season
Comedian Jack Rooke (seen in December) shared that he had spoken with Diane’s family and suggested he was waiting to hear if she would accept his ‘offer’
The next day, he seemed to confirm the ‘offer’, adding: ‘Have now heard from two members of Diane from The Traitors family + the offer is in with her to play said exam invigilator in Big Boys if we do any more [fingers crossed emojis].’
The writer’s job offer for ‘Queen’ Diane sparked joy from fans of both series.
‘Cannot overstate enough how I simply need this to happen,’ one person wrote, while another said they were ‘living for the Traitors to Big Boys pipeline’.
One fan said Channel 4 would be ‘foolish’ to turn the cameo down and another added: ‘Surely this HAS to be a when and not an if?’
Big Boys – a semi-autobiographical series about Jack’s coming-of-age following the death of his father – returned for its second series on Monday.
And fans were left doing a double-take as they recognised a university fresher Danny (Jon Pointing) was trapped in a conversation with at his birthday party in one scene.
The actress playing the small role was none other than The Traitors’ star Maddy, and her character briefly talked Danny’s ear off as he tried to escape the conversation.
Maddy famously tried to conceal her acting career from her co-stars during her appearance on The Traitors, believing it would lead them not to trust her.

BBC viewers were left devastated on Friday as fan favourite Diane appeared to be murdered at the end of the episode after Tracey was killed off at the start
Big Boys – a semi-autobiographical series about Jack’s coming-of-age following the death of his father – returned for its second series on Monday (seen are characters Peggy, Jack, Jules and Danny)
It is not the first time Jack has shown his love for The Traitors, as series one star Maddy Smedley nabbed a role as a university fresher in the newly-released second series of Big Boys
She later came under suspicion when she confessed that she was an actress who had appeared in one episode of EastEnders – where she played a homeless woman named Rita – and in one episode of Casualty, where she played a woman without a womb.
After the show, Maddy landed landed a role in the Chanel 4 soap Hollyoaks, portraying Faye Fuller alongside Owen Warner and Jemma Donovan.
It comes after The Traitors viewers were left devastated on Friday as fan favourite Diane appeared to be murdered at the end of the episode after Tracey was killed off at the start.
The three remaining Traitors – Paul, Miles and Harry – were tasked with deciding who to hand a poisoned chalice to drink from as they made their latest killing.
Diane was seen taking the cup in an explosive cliffhanger, leading many fans to think she has been murdered, though her lips hadn’t yet touched the chalice.
As the show only airs on Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays, fans were then forced to endure an agonising five-day wait to find out if she would survive.
The Traitors fans have been losing their minds over a threat to one of the favourites of the show
However, fans think they may have uncovered a huge twist which could see her survive.
Ahead of Wednesday’s episode, a new theory surfaced on X, formerly Twitter, with fans believing the book of Shakespeare plays, where the Traitors found the vessel, holds a key clue.
Viewers have theorised instead of being murdered, Diane could become a Traitor after delving deeper into the plot of Othello.
One fan wrote: ‘Maybe this coping with Diane loss, but I’ve a theory the poison will convert Faithful to Traitor.
‘In Othello (the book they opened to get the chalice) there was no literal poison used but instead symbolically described Lago poisoning Othello’s mind to change him.’
Another fan wrote: ‘I just seen a TikTok explaining how in the book Othello, Iago “symbolically poisoned Othello’s mind to change him” and that this is why the poisoned chalice found in that book by the traitors will not poison Diane but will actually CHANGE her, into a TRAITOR?’
The preview clip for Wednesday’s episode flashed to the three Traitors – Harry, Miles and Paul – standing with their hoods up in the castle turret after they had been tasked to ‘murder in plain sight’ with the poisoned chalice.
Viewers are on tenterhooks to see if the retired school teacher, 63, has taken the bait and drunk from the poisoned chalice, sealing her fate as the Traitor’s next murder victim
Some think they are concealing their identities ahead of a potential reveal to a new Traitor.
One said: ‘another piece of evidence suggesting that is in the next time trailer the traitors there is a split second scene with the traitors having their hoods up, signifying someone coming into the room.’
Viewers are clinging to the hope fan favourite hasn’t been murdered – and has instead been recruited.
They wrote: ‘This had BETTER be true and if not I’ve got my hopes up for no reason because I just can’t comprehend Diane being murdered.
‘Can you imagine all the traitors gathering to discuss who to murder next and Diane just turns up.’
