Channel 4’s car show Bangers: Mad for Cars has been reportedly axed after ‘poor ratings’.
The show sees British rapper Tinie Tempah and stunt driver Naomi Schiffs going head-to-head to find the best modern classic cars from the 1980s, 1990s and 00s and ultimately deciding which ‘banger’ is the best.
The motoring show was first launched in October 2023, but it seems it’s meant to be short-lived after it was not renewed for a second season, as per The Sun.
A TV source told the publication: ‘It’s so tough for car shows right now, especially on mainstream channels.
‘Bangers: Mad For Cars was always viewed within Channel 4 as a one-off.’

The insider added ‘a second series would likely have been on the table’ if views were significantly surging, although that didn’t happen.
‘But sadly it’s not to be and the show’s being parked, and may never restart.’
The cars series was planned to fill the gap left by the iconic BBC’s Top Gear.
Like Top Gear, Bangers: Mad for Cars also invited celebrities on the show, as they were taken out on a test drive, including football star Ian Wright.
Richard Hammond has recently revealed why he has not reached out to Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff after his near-fatal crash whilst filming Top Gear.
The two presenters suffered similar crashes whilst filming the BBC car programme, both being told they were ‘lucky to be alive’.
Freddie, 46, crashed in December 2022 in an open-topped three-wheel 130mph Morgan Super 3 car, which had no air bags and left him with severe facial injuries and several broken ribs.
Back in 2006, The Grand Tour presenter Richard, now 54-years-old, crashed a Vampire dragster which is a jet powered car capable of reaching 370mph.

Following Freddie’s crash, the BBC announced that it would pause Top Gear – and in November last year it was rested for the ‘foreseeable future’
When asked whether Richard had reached out to Freddie, he said: ‘I’d very much like to, but he’s on his own business of recovery’.
The father-of-two also told The Daily Mirror that he didn’t want to involve himself in the situation despite the similarities. He continued: ‘I was horrified and scared for him, and I wish him the best possible recovery.
‘It’s a really awful thing to happen’.
Following Freddie’s crash, the BBC announced that it would pause Top Gear – and in November last year it was rested for the ‘foreseeable future’.
But fans were relieved recently when he looked to be on the mend as he displayed his healing facial injuries while filming Field Of Dreams in India.
He looked in good spirits as he posed for a photo with cricketer Subhajit Naskar at the Cricket Association of Bengal.
